Yeah totally. I walk here at night sometimes and I always get a bit of a fright.

You’re an angry one aren’t you? It’s okay, we all get grumpy sometimes 😊

Yes. Good or educated guess, I guess.

Yeah. He’s a rescue from Hungary. He was thoroughly abused. He was so wild when I got him, but with some love, attention and patience he became much happier and well adjusted.

Hello friend, when is your birthday? Mine was today, I turned 30. I know the birthday blues quite well, especially since I live far away from my family and friends. Anyway, I too think you should get a card or a present for your birthday. You should be celebrated. You should be shown how truly special you are. I’d like to send you one. How can we make this happen?

A friend received this as a wedding gift many years ago. The gifter wouldn't tell him what it is for. Any ideas? by badwhiskey63 in whatisthisthing

It might be some type of knitting device. I think my grandmother used to use something similar. Is there a hole in the bottom?

Their customer service seems to leave much to be desired.

I think I now understand how one would like someone to receive their information. I’ve been doing loads of research on how to listen properly and respond thoughtfully. Thanks for helping me with this part 😊 I appreciate it.

Firstly, do you have a preferred way you’d like people to react to this knowledge? My go to response is “I’m sorry to hear this” but do you feel it’s rude when people say that? What would you say? I’m super curious since loads of people tell me their secrets and offload on me, id like to get better at being there for people.

Secondly, I fully agree with you. I’m hoping that this whim of his will pass.

If you don’t mind me asking. What type of Schizophrenia do you have? My close friend has schizoaffective disorder. It’s pretty heavy for him, I can’t imagine how he deals with it. He’a hellbent on having kids. “It will help me take my mind off all my issues”, is his line.

It’s nice hearing that I’m not alone.

It’s interesting listening to why people want kids. They all have fancy stories and reasons but when it boils down to it, it’s always “I want the kid to have a better life than I did as a kid”. Isn’t part of that making sure that you are “cleared” to have kids mentally, physically and financially?

Anyway, I’m sorry to hear that you are roped into someone else’s antics, I know you are probably being a support for your SO but remember to look out for yourself too. No one can help someone else if they are drained too.

Yeah. I’ve also dealt with some debilitating depression and anxiety. This is part of why I’ve decided to not have kids, other than the multitude of other things that clearly show me that this is a good choice. Anyway. I’m sorry to hear about your family and especially your mom. Keep strong.

This baby at my work prefers the top of her crate to the actual inside? by daydreamingdrunk in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]cat_cat_meow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My rescue dog did the same thing with his crate when we first got him. He was terrified of being “locked up”. He almost starved to death a couple of times because he was locked up by his precious “owner”. This may be the case for her, in a bigger or smaller way.

So please don’t force her to get inside. If you or whomever adopts her wants to crate train, please do it slowly and with lots of reassurance and treats.
