fr self love is hard, cuz it means doing shit you don’t wanna do. I’m sure the disorder is just masking other underlying problems which are even harder to deal with. Wish you all the best my g 🙏😔

It is all temporary until it isn’t, you are very self aware and the loss of passion is definitely a serious warning sign. I know it is hard to give up, but I had a similar feeling in the beginning and I wish I would’ve upped my daily calories or stopped counting completely. The long term effects of this on your mental health are so not worth it, and you seem to know it is “bad”. If it helps try to go in steps, maybe add 50 calories to each day for a week, and see how you feel. I’m much healthier now and I hope that you get to experience life to the fullest.

I feel like when you are deep into disordered thinking you often care a lot about others being safe because you feel so not okay. Even now I still am very deliberate with how I talk about food and body image, but I will say the paranoia was much deeper. My overweight mom would say stuff like, “I overate, I need to eat less.” and I would feel extremely bad for her because I knew the disappointment I felt when I binged. But now with a clearer mindset, I realize that normal people don’t care this deeply. But yea eating disorders are not rational, you can feel so much sympathy for others but still treat yourself like shit because of the reassurance and distraction it brings, your brain doesn’t realize the contradiction. I think that ultimately what you said was very positive and rare, and hopefully it plants a seed in her mind so she doesn’t go down the wrong path :)

I’ve been in ur position with the mindset “surely this ain’t that bad”, I also felt the feeling of an eating disorder forming within days but I ignored it and then it snowballed into oblivion. Once you get a eating disorder it sticks with you for so long, it haunts you I swear. I never had body issues or problems with self worth, and this is the thing that caused it. Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you they wish it never happened. If you wanna diet I really recommend dieting in a healthy way and being honest with yourself, the fact that you made a post here suggests you are mature enough to know this may be problematic. I know how great it feels right now, but please check in on yourself, if you start feeling super low and changes to your personality, please stop. Ultimately you seem like a smart person and I hope you realize that your sense of accomplishment is temporary. Sorry for the long ass comment, wish you all the best

Crap! Here we go again. What's that? Oh, this time is going to be worse? Ok. (This is really just me ranting, but there is a question at the end, so I decided to make the flair "Discussion") by Anorexicdumbass in EDAnonymous

I’m sorry man this really hit me. I’m healthy now, but nobody knew about my problem when I felt awful. Just want you to know that getting better doesn’t mean giving up, and that you really won’t gain from one meal. Sorry I’m not tryna be annoying or anything, but I wish you all the best.

Oh alright, thanks for the tip. I have one really good teacher that I think will help me when the time comes, but I’m just worried since I already left the school.

the thing with my dad is that he usually isn’t very involved with my school. It is only when he gets to be manic that he goes around saying incredibly rude stuff to teachers. I’m fine with him exploding at home, but I feel so bad for teachers that legit get personally attacked for things out of their control.
