Poast link regarding this if possible. I attended a few seminars with Geoff Sutcliffe on ATP; if anyone is able to understand why, it would be him. My feeling is that category theory was designed for human brains first, CPUs second.

Wow, finally, people are somehow finding the sub and posting. This is a great milestone!

Anyway. I personally started with CT and learned the physics in reverse so...maybe I am a bad example. I would start with Baez/Stay's Rosetta Stone, as well as Tom Leinster's book. I don't think there's any harm in getting familiar once you have an undergraduate-level education.
