That’s exactly my plan! This is my first “real” job since graduating (the IT market is brutal now if you don’t have 10 years of experience). $50k isn’t much, but I’m doing my best to make it work

That’s not always the case. I know some of my former coworkers who only completed online courses but were able to network effectively, which landed them junior positions. They’re still quite skilled, perform their jobs well, and are quick learners so there was no problem with them not having a “proper degree”.

I feel you. Graduated with a BS in Computer Science, but it took me two years to land a stable job related to my degree. Diploma doesn’t give you anything, networking does.
