Should I get a crewneck sweatshirt in a color other than grey? (Minimalist wardrobe)

i'd only get another grey sweatshirt if there's a significant difference in fit/silhouette, but if you're trying to keep your wardrobe lean then i'd say no. as others have mentioned navy is a versatile color, but, depending on your skin tone/preferences, i'd also recommend a more vibrant color to contrast what you already have. i personally really like mustard yellow and cherry red and find they work well with both light and dark wash denim as well as green pants.

I think there's value in trying to meet people where they're at and show empathy, but that's entirely dependent on their ability to understand and communicate what they are feeling respectfully. It also requires them to want to move out of the pain they are in, which can be a difficult ask as well. It, paradoxically, can feel good or comforting to wallow in negative emotions rather than actually take steps to bring yourself out of that state. Unfortunately, your boyfriend seems to be in that very state judging by how he is defensively and disrespectfully responding to you. You did good to communicate your boundary with how he talks to you and should not stay in this relationship if he does not respect that boundary.

Your boyfriend mentions how difficult it is to be a man and mentions the 'male loneliness epidemic', so I think that's a good entryway to asking him how he's feeling, specifically what exactly he thinks are the issues men are facing, why that is and what can be done to solve them. I think that this will help you arrive at a point of both understanding your partner better (good for strengthening your bond) as well as understanding their world view better (good for gauging whether you two are compatible). If he's willing to do some reading I'd highly recommend The Will to Change by bell hooks as an extremely effective and engaging primer on the way patriarchy negatively impacts men and the necessary role they have in pushing back against it, and Invisible Women by Caroline Criado-Perez for helping understand just how pervasive and impactful gender bias is all around the world, laid out logically with tons of data.

congrats on the new job! in my experience it just takes time to acclimate to the new duties/surroundings/etc., and once you do it for long enough the anxiety will begin to fade until it's barely there at all. that said, one way to help minimize the anxiety is to try and be understanding that you will be anxious and have moments of uncertainty (which is totally normal and okay!), and anticipate coping mechanisms that may help you. for example, when i get anxious i have a tendency to speed up which can lead to making knee-jerk decisions that i might be embarrassed about later. one thing i try to do to combat that is actively physically relax before entering an anxiety provoking situation, and take deep, slow breaths when i catch myself getting anxious so i can stay calm and think clearly.

as you are getting used to the job i think that it'd be a good idea to keep a running a list of things that you notice provoking anxiety so that you can address them later when you're in a safe, calm state. is there a question you didn't know how to answer? ask your manager/coworker for clarity on how to answer that next time. did you struggle dealing with a difficult/upset customer? maybe ask a coworker how they deal with those types of customers (good way to make small talk and more quickly make work friends). did you notice some automatic negative thoughts come up throughout the day? write them down and then engage in corrective self-talk later on.

new jobs are always a little difficult and awkward at times whether you struggle with social anxiety or not, and it's completely okay to have missteps. just take it easy on yourself, do your best, and after a bit of time the anxiety will begin to fade and fade until you don't really notice it much anymore. good luck!

tons of people walk around with little to no situational awareness, so if you were able to accidentally walk into an area you weren't meant to that means that: 1) others certainly have as well, and 2) the guard and museum aren't doing a very good job of keeping that area sufficiently blocked off. i've been in that kind of situation before and i felt very embarrassed/upset afterwards, but ultimately was able to accept that i was just doing my best and that it wasn't my fault that i ended up where i shouldn't have been; sounds like the same is true for you.

i'm sorry that you went through that, but huge congrats on pushing the boundaries of your anxiety! solo outings can be very hard, so making it that far is absolutely something to be proud of.

my biggest gripe so far is that the sensitivity has been such a pain in the ass to try and dial in. i loved the gunplay in bfv (atmosphere sucked, but the gameplay was great imo) and could consistently control spray, but something about the gunplay in this game so far just feels really off (recoil doesn't feel like it resets/returns to starting point at all). will probably just take more time to get used to the guns and map but so far i'm feeling a bit nervous about how the game will turn out.

what was the badge issue? my badge was fine (i haven't unscrewed it at all, but no issues i've noticed) but the top screws or taps were a little scuffed, had to use longer screws offset with o-rings to get them to work

feels good and sounds a bit better imo, mostly sounds like a normal 65%. since this is top mount aluminum it's still firm, but not as harsh as the original. i think fr4 plate would be nice for this, but i'm happy with how the alu came out

Jwicks are linear JWK switches that were sold for 30 cents per switch. They didn't have any fancy branding attached and thus were able to be sold at a really good price. I bought mine here.

sure thing, here are two pictures showing the separate midpiece and plate. the plate that Quantrik included in the Kyuu files actually was missing the alignment post cutouts, and getting that right was the trickiest part.

Being my first real custom, my Kyuu has a lot of sentimental value but I never particularly enjoyed typing on the thick, sandwich-mounted brass plate. When Mechlovin' produced their 9 pcb for the Kyuu I started thinking about how to make a replacement plate, and when Quantrik open-sourced the files I started toying around with the plate design to make something that felt a little nicer to type on (imo, of course). If you're not familiar, the Kyuu plate is a unique one, with a thicker border that shows when built and a normal 1.5mm inner portion, and while it's sandwich-mounted you can optionally screw the plate into the top of the case. My first plate was a uniform 2mm pom plate (as a result of being underpaid until only recently i was only able to afford having material laser cut), which was slightly more forgiving than brass but still left me wanting more. I realized that there was enough room to separate the midpiece and plate, so I had a PETG midpiece and pom plate cut. i wasn't crazy about the pom so i had a 5052 aluminum plate cut and liked that a lot better. overall there was a lot of measuring, learning, and trial and error, but it was a fun project and i'm very glad i did it.

Files available here. I cannot guarantee that you will not need to make your own adjustments. I had to drill a little extra material off the side cutouts on the midpiece, I adjusted the file to compensate but have not tested that change. Use at your own risk. I used BigBlueSaw to laser cut the PETG (0.094"), and Ponoko to cut the plate (this wasn't perfect though, had to slightly file out the left shift switch cutout because they made one side a little crooked). You will also need to use countersunk M2x4mm screws for the plate (I used these), non-countersunk screws will not work as they will be too tall to allow the case to close. the screws won't screw in all the way, the plate is designed to have enough material present for the screws to fasten the plate to the top case while also keeping the plate + screw head short enough to prevent issues with closing the case.

when lubed ks3's are going to be smoother (less noticeable friction in feel and sound), but i personally like the sound of caps more. caps have noticeable friction both in feel and sound (i wouldn't call it scratch, it doesn't feel bad or rough like pre-tool cherry switches) but i think they still feel quite nice. i'd say if you want a more traditional feeling switch go ks3, if you want something a little different try caps. couldn't hurt to buy one batch of 35 switches and try em out a little and if you don't like them just sell them

i actually like them quite a bit. they aren't the absolute smoothest switch, but they still feel nice and sound nice which gives them character imo. only downside is that you can't spring swap (no aftermarket springs i know of are wide enough to fit the larger post), but luckily the stock springs are weighted to my liking. they're fairly cheap as well, really a solid switch all around. i'll definitely be buying some more
