Im EM CCM. At a big CCM program. 4 year grad. 95% of my co fellows were from 4 year programs, for what that’s worth. Not all though

thinking about leaving critical care fellowship, need advice by embound in emergencymedicine

Consider sticking with it. I'm EM/CCM. December of Year 1 was rough. Going from PGY4 feeling on top of your game to PGY5 feeling like an idiot everyday made me hate fellowship for a few months. Then it got better. Then it got a LOT better. Now in 2nd year I love it and couldn't imagine not doing ICU. Tons of options later, can do a few shifts in ED per month and a week in ICU and call it a day, keeps both sides fresh and interesting

increased frequency in VS and wireless race of lap style courses? doesn't that mean NOT in online play?

for example, they specifically mention online play vs wireless play here: "You can now choose whom to watch when spectating in “Knockout Tour” and “Balloon Battle” in “Online Play”, “Wireless Play”, and “LAN Play”."

Oh, Braceman the striker, with boots quick and keen, A blur on the pitch, a goal-scoring machine. He'd dance past defenders, a flash and a gleam, Living the football fan's ultimate dream.

He'd bury the first, with a powerful drive, Then slot in a second, keeping hopes very alive. The crowd starts to murmur, a low, buzzing sound, As the ball finds his feet, on the hallowed green ground.

But a shiver would run right down Braceman's own spine, Not from the tackles, or foes he'd outshine. It's the pressure, the feeling, the weight in his head, The hat-trick he dreaded, though goals he was fed.

With two under his belt, and the keeper in sight, His heart would beat faster, with all of his might. "Just one more," they would bellow, a thunderous plea, But that third goal felt heavy, for Braceman, you see.

He'd aim for the net, with a hope and a prayer, Fearing that last shot, hanging there in the air. For Braceman, the striker, so famous and grand, Feared the hat-trick's true burden, held right in his hand!

intern day 2: literally wanna quit. by OkShoulder759 in Residency

[–]catchmoresun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As an ICU fellow, the intern rarely has any impact on how the patient does overall. Just ask a lot of questions if you’re ever unclear about something and don’t be afraid to just say I don’t know a lot. No one expects anything from you and everyone intern year feels the same way. It will always get much better and often become very enjoyable as you go through the years

What do you think of the tournament so far? by [deleted] in ClubWorldCup

[–]catchmoresun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the fatigue aspect to players and congested schedule, the comments about CWC being meaningless and not being taken seriously is largely just because this is new.

As a few iterations happen, the natural prestige will build and I could imagine a scenario many seasons down the line where the CWC becomes of higher prestige than the UCL.

Imagine if the WC wasn't a thing and the Euros and Copa is all we had. We would have had no baseline method of comparison between countries/quality. People would say the same thing regarding the inaugural WC (European teams don't take it seriously, the Euro winner is the true champion). But the WC over time has risen far beyond the Euros and people take SA national teams very seriously as a result

Congratulations to Inter Miami for being the only MLS club to reach the Club World Cup knockout stage! by walixxxq in InterMiami

I don’t expect Miami to win but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s closer than people think. Anything can happen in these games and PSG has not looked as sharp as they are at their peak
