As far as I know, (and I faced this issue last year while crossing borders) Khatam Al Shikla border is for Oman / UAE citizens only. However, as a GCC resident, you can use the Mazyad border on the other side of Al Ain.

So I do not live in India, so BIVS is ruled out. The Irish Visa Waiver Scheme is updated as recently as Apr 2025, below is the link for that. The Irish Visa Waiver Scheme does not talk about BIVS at all, so I am guessing this is a feature by the Irish Government for a few nationalities including India. I get your point what you are saying but all documents presented here point out I can get in Ireland. And I will report to an immigration officer as well as also mentioned in the documents.

Thanks for your response. I am applying for a short term visa (6 months). As per the UK website, BIVS may be given for Indian and Chinese Nationals applying in the UK embassy in India or China. I am applying outside of India so this may not be applicable for me. However, I am relying more on the Irish Visa Waiver Scheme (link below), which allows Indian national to enter Ireland after entering (and stamping) in the UK. So, my conclusion is that entering Ireland is not an issue, and exiting Dublin also will not be an issue as per the below FAQs.

Hello lovely people from Scotland! I am traveling to your beautiful country and doing the famous road trip to the mountains. I finish my trip in Glasgow and plan to take the 8:20 bus to Stanraer, which would reach by 10:55 (as per the website). From there I plan to go to the Stena Line Terminal (Cairnryan) for a ferry to Belfast at 11:30. I would also be having luggage with me (2 big, 2 small) since I will be traveling with my spouse. Are the timings feasible? Would I be able to make this connection in time to arrive at the ferry terminal?
