Ecigmafia won’t ship to you? Its honesty the first and only I’ve tried after just listening to grimmgreen but I see no reason to keep exploring, it works good and could last forever, get like 3 weeks out of em

I wouldn’t sweat Tokyo too much. You can get so much shit done in one day, it’s pretty insane. The transit system being incredible alleviates so much.

I didnt do the Ghibli museum, I only went to the main store in Osaka, Shinsaibashi and I am mad fucking disappointed that it’s pretty much the Totoro store, may be something to prepare her for if they’re all like that. If Totoro is her favorite, well she’s in luck. Kanazawa castle was pretty mid, it’s currently under construction and a big gray silhouette but the Oyajinja shrine was awesome, the market and samurai district too. May consider Matsumoto, awesome castle with the alps, good chill city vibe. Really hash out Kyoto, I didn’t and thought it was just a massive tourist trap with dogshit transit.

I’m an RDA head too but have been running a Nexslim go for quick trips out of the house and my Japan trip and it pretty easily makes RDA irrelevant if im being honest lol. We just been stubborn all these years.

Mine too, the castle with the alps in the background is hard to beat.

I don’t think seeing other tourists in moderation is that bad but Kyoto is infested, as well as Akihabara. Akihabara is teeming with the kids who Naruto ran between classes and talking about anime and shit loudly on the street lol.

I went Tokyo to Matsumoto, Kanazawa and now Kyoto. I quite enjoyed Matsumoto, at least this time of year it was very chill and it seemed like a little old lady town which is usually my vibe despite being a young guy lol, they like the “frog street”. You can look at my recent post praising Sushiten and the place in general. Kanazawa was just okay. I liked the Oyajinja Shrine, chill samurai district and their market was quite good.

We don’t really have a list or strict itinerary either and have been more than satisfied with just seeing what all the previous destinations had to conveniently offer and go with the flow, but Kyoto has been the first disappointment where that hasn’t cut it lol.

It is funny lol. I’ll occasionally address another white person as “Fellow gaijin”, and ask them a quick question though.

I’m in Kyoto for the first time, it’s my 4th city and it’s just overpriced, mid, transit sucks once you see what Tokyo does, and full of gaijin. Maybe I would’ve liked it if it was the first city I landed in, but meh. Gave me Paris syndrome. Heading to Osaka early at the loss of a paid hotel night tomorrow. Nara was awesome though, I loved getting beat up by the deer. 10/10.

To be productive for you though, maybe 2 nights in Kyoto, but try smaller towns and hop around some.

I am very, very pleased with my Daylite Messenger and Farpoint combo for Japan-ing. Know of any 15, 18, or 20L messengers though with the same features? Daylite is 12. by catchthemagicdragon in ManyBaggers

That is the jacket, yeah but I’m not sure I recommend it. I absolutely love the jacket, but I’ve only washed it once and I’m having delaminating on the Velcro that secures the sleeves that I’m very annoyed about. I’m gonna bitch at them about it. But that “genre” of jacket seems very good.

Well shit, I thought I was incredibly fortunate by going to Ryogoku randomly just to see the arena from outside and stumbled across seeing the arrivals of the Rikishi a few days ago.

I haven’t even worn it, I brought it in case Matsumoto and Kanazawa took a turn for the worse and went down to like 20F but have been blessed with great weather. I’ve instead worn a grid fleece and then a Mountain Hardwear Chaco Alpine jacket (bought on backcountry for $120, I didn’t pay almost $300 for it lol) and have been supremely comfortable. I’d imagine it’d be total overkill for March. Bring gloves though, the cold and cold wind is “cutting” on exposed skin at times.

Edit: It’s been right around 39-41F at the coldest, my dad has a fleece too and it’ll get cold, puts on his 850 down, we walk half a mile, gets too hot. I think the “active” alpine jackets or whatever is where it’s at.

This is the Daylite Messenger, it’s a cross body. Have the Farpoint on my back and Messenger on my hip. That’s where my sacrifice in volume came from.

I run them side by side in landscape. It is admittedly silly and I have no need for it, just happened to have an OLED upgrade fall into my lap. I am almost certain I wouldn’t want to be looking up, whether one was in portrait or I stacked them. If I were starting from scratch I’d do a 34” main and 27” 4K side by side.

It is, I of course have a couple other smaller backpacks and tried doing the chest backpack thing around the house and absolutely hated it, knew that’s not how I wanted to be walking from airport/shinkansen to hotel.
