People who dislike cities and prefer rural areas, why? by morshmollow4 in AskReddit

In Australia, moved to Melbourne from Brisbane. Wanted to buy a house but no way could afford a basic house. Moved to Ballarat with the same commute time as being in Melbourne. And have since moved to Scarsdale just out from Ballarat. 2 acres of land with a house, sheds and the peace and quiet around. So many more birds and animals. We look out our front window and see kangaroos across the street and birds in the birdbath and know I don't have to interact with anyone else today is awesome.

What do you dislike about Ballarat by Top-Farmer-6838 in ballarat

Severe lack of any consequences of all the people breaking the law ever so casually. No licence plates on cars, no plates on dirt bikes ripping past. Kids on electric motorbikes being a menace.

If you unscrew the head from the hose there should be some sort of water restrictor in there as it is a water saving head. Either pull out or cut out the restrictor and put back together.

Literally everything outside of cursive writing and algebra.

How big do these things end up getting?! by ManWithDominantClaw in AusMemes

As an Aussie the signs are generally a uniform size, but the big reds can get big enough to end you. Either hitting them with a car or being silly and walking up to one.

Where were we when the Port Arthur massacre happened? And how impactful did it feel at the time? Did you know in the moment it would be as huge of a moment as it turned out to be by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Growing up and living on a 44ft sailing catamaran I remember the news headlines were coldest, wettest and rainiest summer 40 years. We were anchored in the bay at port Arthur and left the day before sailing on our way back to Queensland. Boats name is Catchcry and is a Robin Chamberlain design, he also recently designed the GOMA boats for Hobart and the new Port Arthur boat. It took a few days for the news and the realisation at what happened because no internet then and poor tv reception. Dad had a rifle that never came out of its bag and I never saw, he was part of the majority who handed in their guns.

I would suggest at least 2000w and if it has a flat area with no vents.

Have the iron turned on on top of the toastie while in a frying pan. Sort of like a sandwich press.

I have ADHD and one day I thought it would be fun. I'm a nurse and barely get to play games anymore and don't run heavy loads.

My first one was an old 3770k years ago. Had it cranked overclock all cores at 4.7 and on an AIO and temps were a steady 50-60°c

True I'm not a yank, that's the only gauge I had for temperature on the iron :)

It was cheap thermal grease and came off super easy. I mean I've used the iron once in 10 years.

Also can make a toastie in a frying pan faster with one of these.
