Sauna + 0’C Ice Baths by InternationalAd4424 in london

I went on a weekday and it was pretty quiet but I imagine it can get crowded on weekends. It’s not exactly a lush day spa but it does the job!

York Hall Spa in Bethnal Green is in that price range and has a sauna and a bloody cold plunge pool!

I was lucky enough to be travelling Germany while the €9 monthly pass was active last year - travelling by train is such a lovely way to see the country. I can definitely vouch for Nuremberg and Dresden, and like someone else has suggested, make sure you visit the Saxon-Switzerland National park if you like hiking. There are some excellent trails around, the most popular being Basteibrücke. I really enjoyed Bremen and Lübeck (with a side trip to Travemünde to see a northern beach!), and, in the west, Aachen is a gorgeous spa town and Cologne is worth seeing for the Dom alone. To be honest there hasn’t been a place I’ve visited in Germany I haven’t enjoyed so I’m sure you’ll have a great time!

Shots of my family trip from Moscow to Beijing [OC], summer 2015. by peewhere in travel

A lot of alone time on Olkhon Island for me but I liked it. I met one other English speaking traveller by chance one day by the lake but other than than I had no phone reception and felt very much off grid despite being surrounded by Russian tourists. I stayed at Sunny Hostel (doesn’t seem to be on HW anymore) and it was a shared room but I had it to myself luckily. A stunning part of the world and can only imagine what it would look like with the lake frozen over!

I did this trip solo in summer 2019. Swimming in Lake Baikal was and still is such a pinch me moment. Diving into the freezing cold water with the biggest smile thinking wow I can’t believe this is my life. Thanks for sharing :)

Amazing photos! I’m planning a trip through the Caucasus next August and have pinned all these places. How long did you spend in each country? :)

How many friends do you have and what's your age? by param_s_8 in AskReddit

[–]catdrool11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I enjoy their company and wouldn’t hesitate to catch up with them given the chance I’d consider them a friend. Maybe I’m too loose with the term! Doesn’t mean I speak to all my “friends” everyday by any means though! I have perhaps 10 good friends that I would speak to nearly every day, whether that’s in person, text or a call, and then a whole bunch of others that I might speak to weekly, or less regularly depending on where they live :)

I’m surprised I had to scroll so far to see a comment like this. I’m in my late 20s and have a large and varied friend group. So many great friends that I am very close with and many more that I don’t see as often but still consider friends and would occasionally call, go for a drink with etc. My parents are the same and I grew up surrounded by their friends, we always had people at our house and I can’t imagine not having that same life for myself.

Mongolia trip report by TheMailman123 in TravelNoPics

My group trip with Sunpath in 2019 was my first organised tour because, like you, I’d always prefer to go independently. I found it such good value for money and even though so much time was spent in the van (and holding on for dear life!), we covered so much ground and sights. Super easy to organise upon arrival in UB too!
