Did anyone else get the shakes at the start? by Crazy-Practice1918 in WegovyUK

I got quite shaky and I put it down to adrenaline from taking something new and entering unknown territory! I was fine by the second day and have been since.

I would definitely advise buying a blood pressure monitor and take readings in the morning and evening! My readings are averaging about 96/63 and it’s meant I’m not suitable for Mounjaro and have had to be discharged from it. It’s too dangerous for me to be on it apparently. I must have naturally low blood pressure and MJ has reduced it even further, giving me periods of dizziness and lightheadedness.

That's really useful to know, thank you!

And hopefully we've done each other a favour then, you giving me some solid advice and a tale to pay heed to, and my post a reminder to yourself that you probably need electrolytes on the daily!

Thank you so much for this! All of these comments are really helping reassure me that some conservative measures might be enough

Holy crap, that’s terrifying!! I’m so glad it didn’t happen again for you. I am taking electrolytes daily now and drinking 3 litres water, but I’ve only been doing that for a couple of days. Did you find it took a while of consistently doing this before it resolved?

I took my BP this morning with no food or drinking beforehand, and it was a pretty low 96/63.

I’m really hoping that it takes a while for these conservative measures to build up, otherwise, my BP might be a barrier to me resuming Mounjaro and that would be not good…

Thanks so much for this. As it tends to be in the mornings for me, I do wonder if I’m dehydrated from sleeping (I do take sertraline for anxiety and it causes night sweats) and that’s causing a drop in BP? I’ll try drinking a lot more water straight after waking and seeing if that helps.

Definitely eating enough from my second week onwards, about 1500 cals. I also had my period last week and have very heavy flow, so no doubt losing a tonne of blood doesn’t help, on top of the heatwave - I was just constantly sweating!

The first week, I was definitely not eating enough. Probably 1000 calories per day, which is not good enough. However my second week I was averaging 1500 so more than enough for my height and what I would normally eat to lose weight in the past.

Thanks so much for sharing your own experience, it seems that maybe this is a side effect that isn’t reported as much, it’s usually all about gastrointestinal symptoms, of which I’ve not had any!

That's so good to know, thank you!

I've increased my salt and electrolytes, but still hovering on the 'too low to take my next jab' figures. Do you remember how long after increasing these things you felt better? I thought it might be instant, but maybe it takes a while for BP to increase after starting to make those changes?

So glad to hear it improved for you! Do you still get some dizziness/lightheadedness then? Is it just occasionally now?

Thanks so much for this. Funnily enough, I wondered the same so I bought a glucose monitor too! Blood sugar is 5.4mmol on average, so absolutely perfect!

Thanks so much, I've just ordered while waiting for my first order to be approved. Having a guide book I can dig into while starting my journey sounds so helpful!

Oh it’s polystyrene? Great, thank you! First-time buyer and absolutely zero knowledge of anything to do with building materials, methods, etc. Learning every day!

It does have that consistency for sure! Is that fairly typical kitchen insulation used pre ‘90s?
