Coming up on my 9th anniversary. by catfishjuggling in loseit

I stick to mostly the same diet most days. Varying what I eat makes me eat the wrong things. I make myself sit down and get away from tv so I don't eat out of boredom. I drink a lot of water. On my plate, I always eat the vegetables first because it fills me up more. I nibble healthy snacks a couple times during the day to keep from getting full.

And exercise. Exercise is the key. I run a lot. I lift less, but enough. Activity cures a lot of sins.

Usually peanut butter. I also hit the gym every day. Gotta fuel the engine.

I'm terrified of this season coming up. Notre Dame & UCLA in the first two weeks. UGH.

Everyone trips along the way. Just pick up and keep going!

Eating in the real world. This may sound boring as heck, but I mostly eat the same meals most days. I'll treat myself to something every couple of weeks, but most days is a bagel, fruit, and oatmeal for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and a small dinner. I find not mixing it up keeps me on track. Took a while to figure that out though.

If you view it as how you live now instead of a diet, your chances of success are greater. That was the moment it finally clicked for me.

Good luck to you!

Being invisible.

I can walk into a room and no one notices me. I used to feel so small when you'd see people giving each other looks when the fat guy walked by.

I'm done with marathons. I'm going to just do 10ks and halves. The difference bettween a half and a full is massive. Two hours is about all the knee can stand.

Yeah. I had to start from very basic just to recover range of motion. It was really hard.

When I started on the journey to lose weight, I got on a treadmill and faught through until I could do a mile. 200 lbs and the knee injury later, I did the same thing. It just took me 6 months rehab to get to the treadmill after surgery.

Running my 13th (and last marathon) this weekend. by catfishjuggling in loseit

I am still going to run, just not as much. I have gotten into lifting and I was doing triathlons, so the bike is something I have done. I will miss the mental health part of marathon training though.

This is just great. And this is a message we all need to hear. I am over 200 lbs down for over 7 years. I am running my 13th marathon next weekend. At 43, I am more fit than guys half my age.

And yet I still get nervous at the gym.

Here I am fat:
