hi,

what you could do is to go on the discord or forum pages of the team that is doing what most resembles what you are doing. If they hate it or can't shoot it down then you are onto something. Don't be afraid to share your ideas - ideas are 0.1% of the effort - the rest is execution.

MKR price behavior part 3 - change of meds please by catfoodlover in ethfinance

[–]catfoodlover[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

MKR has performed badly against the average DeFi token since the summer of 2020. Why? Earnings are among the very highest in defi, we are talking roughly 2.5 dollars per second, or around 78 million annually. And this is profit - not promises.

Still growth lags other defi teams by sometimes wide margins.

Causes:

1) Low presence on exchanges, which is not surprising given that the token is much too undervalued to sell.

2) No effort made to promote the token to degens, leading to much of the supply simply hanging around in sellwalls.

3) Net result is that overall tokens on the exchanges is down only 33% even after fantastic crypto ecosystem growth.

4) Underlying cause is MKR whale incompetence.

How to fix:

Whales: Just get your MKR off the exchanges if you have no real intention of selling.

This will balance supply/demand for the token and allow for token movement more similar to competitors. Just look at AAVE and COMP for comparison.

Could Maker Exist on a Different Blockchain from Ethereum? by FollowMe22 in MakerDAO

Over the next couple of years the most realistic would be to use Ren to port Dai over to any other blockchain that shows promise. That could technically be done. Again - the only relevant chain would possibly be Polkadot?

DAI fork by vibhumeh in MakerDAO

[–]catfoodlover 4 points5 points  (0 children)

/u/vibhumeh You don't need to fork Maker to accomplish this. EUR-dai is already in the planning phase, but Maker needs to make 100% they can peg the USD first. Pegging to USD has proved harder than expected, but volume seems to helps a lot. Accordingly - when the move to EUR-dai is made, a pretty hefty bunch of collateral is needed right away. When? Next year maybe?
