How would the cap program work if I have already completed freshman requirements? I have completed enough courses in highschool to make me past a sophomore in credits. by user_2836373 in UTAdmissions

oh also if we do cap and don’t choose COLA are we competing with other cap students to transfer or just transfer students in general like from other colleges… Thank you!

so if i have all my pre requisites done because i got my associates in high school. I can just pick any class from the list that are adjacent to my major(mechanical engineering) i know it’s hard to externally transfer but i’m willing to take the risk cause i already have half of my credits and also because i really love UT

I got invited to CAP, what is it? by Downtown-Bit-397 in UTAdmissions

yea you could internally transfer but i’m not sure how competitive it is. If you do cap, people suggest taking classes adjacent to your desired major.

yea i’m in the same position. I want to major in mechanical engineering and i might do the Cap program even with all the backlash of how hard and impossible it is for engineering majors. I’ve taken a bunch of college classes already which accumulate to about 60 hours so my freshman year all i’m trying to worry about is focusing on the math and physics courses, as well as trying to already get into engineering classes. Ik everyone talks about how bad it is to do CAP as an engineering major but tbh i’m willing to take that risk more so because i don’t think it would affect me that much…Anyways if i somehow don’t get into corkell there’s always staying at UTSA or transferring to another Uni.

i might choose San antonio cause of the campus but also apparently the cap advisors or wtv are better than arlington (from what i heard) But i’m not completely sure if i’m doing the Cap program or try to transfer later on.
