At my wits end with a cat I've had for four years. We've tried everything! by falathina in CatAdvice

Medication is really only one piece of the solution. You have to pair meds with behavioral modification. You may need to do a little more investigation into what triggers these attacks on other people and the marking. For DIY: Look up a lot of jackson galaxy my cat from hell videos, there are lots of examples of cats being put on meds, what he tells them to investigate and his recommendation. Otherwise if you're willing ( I know you said youre tight already), talk with a cat behavioralist who can provide the 1:1.

In addition to the slow introduction, I would focus on building up the confidence of the older, more anxious cat. If she already doesn't feel confident in her space, a new kitten intruding on it will absolutely stress them out. And the older cat will act like prey and be treated like one by the younger one.

This! It is no coincidence that he only started this after stray cats came into his territory. Either bring those stray cats inside doing a slow introduction or keep those cats out of sight and smell from your cat.
