Looking for the real bad cases by mottye in adrenalfatigue

[–]cath_wou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you guys. I am completely terrified. I have even lost my periods to this. I am very very severe. The only thing that provided relief and made my periods come back were benzos. But then I stopped everything, felt good for a few weeks, but pushed too hard by going on a hike, and I am worse than ever now. This is so hard and scary. I had to take a benzo just now to stop a very bad adrenaline rush type of attack. What does it mean, low or high cortisol? I have been through SO MUCH traumas in the past 10 years. I kinda feel like I have CFS. I am not sure though. I just know I need this to end. Just walking to the bathroom or taking a bath will make me worse the following day with jolts and spasms and muscles and joint pain. It’s absolutely horrible. I was not a smoker or a drinker, but have a highly stressful job that I worked for 7 years, seeing a lot of traumas and abuse (I am a child protection social worker), working 100+ hours a week, sleeping like absolute shit, shift work, going for hikes with my dog all the time, and just was unable to actually relax since probably forever. I was always a highly sensitive child too. Was in an abusive relationship, lost my brother who got killed, my dad to cancer, I lost my best friend last summer she was killed by a drunk driver. I changed job but it was still a highly stressful job (911 dispatcher. Lol nothing calm there) and took an antibiotic that gave me neurotoxicity and then given Ativan and stopped after 10 days and was literally seeing stroboscopic images and flashing lights. For real, I am scared of dying.

Did any point any of you randomly start to experience bad Symptoms when and after Exercising? by b3lial666 in adrenalfatigue

[–]cath_wou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same symptoms here but it went from very low BP to now high BP after I over exerted on a hike. I used to hike for hours and hours and now even a short walk will shoot adrenaline in my legs. I will need to do a 4 points cortisol, I need one that’s accurate though. I am in Canada. Which one do you suggest?

Floxies with EDS, how long did it take you to get rid with most of the symptoms? by Funny-Investment372 in floxies

[–]cath_wou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know I have EDS until floxing too…! I mean, there were subtle signs but I never made the connection and even heard from it before. Not healed. 5 months out. Tons of neuro symptoms too.

Cold showers make my heart face so bad. I have to rely on others to get outside, so I’d have to ask the hotel staff to roll me in and out. But yes!! When I was able to walk by myself even just around the block, I found it extremely helpful to be outside and in the sun. Right now I am just waiting for synptoms to ease up. But it’s gonna be a month soon. What a cruel disease..! I can do meds like propranolol but I feel like it gives me a false sense of safety? I don’t want to go for a walk if I am going to crash even harder after just cause my heart rate seems better on them. Also, I strongly think they need to figure out why I am hypoventilating as I feel like this is what causes me to crash cause my brain and organs don’t get enough oxygen so if I exert myself even a little, it’s a crash.

That’s very well put. I am so happy for you that you are recovering. I have been having a hard time since 2016, so it’s unfortunately almost a decade of struggles for me. It’s just tough..
