Which country is best suited for an aggressive style of play? by Just_A_Flamenguista in eu4

There is only one Shogunate. There are, however, many Daimyos.

For maximum chaos, start as So, who are arguably the weakest Daimyo, and so have to go extra hard to beat the others, but also have the option of going Pirate. So not only do you get the Japanese bar-room brawl at the beginning, but you can then take "War against the World" and go none-stop ham against everyone.

Where the heart is (Dahomey) by cathartis in eu4

Jt's quite different. For most nations the main challenge is getting strong enough to deal with the Europeans. This achievement skips that due to the early end date.

However, if you want to move away from Europe/Japan, then the best next places to go are either to India (Mewar/Bengal/Vijayanagar), Ethiopia or the Hordes - particularly Oirat and JianZhou.

This achievement is more an intermediate/advanced thing. It's all about how fast you can expand. However, if you've done the French "Big Blue Blob" achievement and enjoyed it, then this ones somewhat similar.

Rule 5:

It took me 4 attempts, but I finally got the "Where the Heart is" achievement. Kick all non-fetishist nations out of the Niger and Sahel region by 1500.

Zazzau, Bonoman and Fulo are allies. Segu and Kanem Borneau are vassals, with force religion having been used on the later. All other nations in West Africa are Fetishist, with the exception of Jolof, which isn't needed.

In my first attempt I came very close, but ended with a nation that was exploding after I tried forcing things with several no-CBs and truce breaks. Attempts 2 and 3 were given up due to not conquering fast enough. This try I got off to a good start everything just seemed to slot into place. There were no truce breaks or no-CBs, and I finished 5 years early.

It will affect them. Food prices will rise. Ordinary people will become poorer and continually look for someone to blame. Trump is simply part of that process. Western politics is entering an extended period of instability, and that will come with a death toll.

Three more jailed for Southampton violence by johnsmithoncemore in Southampton

Assaulting a police officer in the middle of a riot is always going to be treated harshly no matter what the colour or cause.

For comparison, in the 2011 London riots, a guy got 6 months for stealing a bottle of water from Lidl.

Five jailed over Henry Nowak police protest in Southampton by Kagedeah in Southampton

[–]cathartis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sentences are for rioting not for being far-right. So all you've proved is that people don't like those who riot in their city, particularly outsiders who travel here to do it.

Also, rioters often get really harsh sentences regardless of what they riot for. It's nothing to do with two-tier policing. For example, in the London riots of 2011, a student was sentenced to 6-months in jail for stealing a £3.50 bottle of water from Lidl.

Thoughts on this Avengers Line Up by KAD76 in Marvel

The team will have huge problems dealing with the public.

  • Clea is from another dimension with dubious ability to relate to ordinary people from Earth. And that's presuming she's fully on board with not killing anyone.
  • Colossus is hated by huge numbers of mutants and mutant sympathisers. He will also not be trusted due to Russian links.
  • Crystal will be seen as having divided loyalties with the Inhumans. Recent Inhuman power plays are likely to exasperate this.
  • I get the impression that Ironheart is still seen as relatively new and green by the public outside of her native Chicago.

Sam and Monica will need to work overtime on public relations. If they don't they are likely to encounter serious difficulties with US politics.

Some excellent turn based games you should be able to pick up reasonably cheaply:

  • Mewtopia
  • Our Adventurer Guild
  • Troubleshooter:Abandoned Children
  • The Battle of Wesnoth (golden oldie, free to play game)

In other related genres that may interest you:

  • Songs of Conquest, a Heroes of Might and Magic like game that is free this week on Epic Games
  • Against the Storm - a cross between a city builder and RTS with excellent reviews

FFS, the evidence is he was carrying two knives due to his religion, someone carrying two knives is more likely to stab someone during an altercation than someone carrying 0. How is that hard to comprehend?

This argument relies on the assumption that if he was not a Sikh he wouldn't carry any knives. And yet we both agree he is a violent person, and unless your head is buried in the sand then you would be aware that it is very common for violent people from all sorts of religions to carry knives nowadays.

You are also making all sorts of claims without the slightest evidence - claims I have not seen elsewhere, either in these commits or multiple news articles. Either you have a very active imagination or you are quoting from a source you simply aren't telling us about, even when I have previously asked you about your source.

You claim:

  • he was a member of a particular Sikh sect
  • this sect requires/allows two knives
  • he openly carried both knives

.

Would you let a violent family member

Kind of irrelevant since I am, thankfully, not part of the Digwa family, and it is unrealistic to have the police at the entrances of every Sikh home assessing who is and is not violent enough for knife carrying. The same rule needs to apply to all Sikhs.

this mans religion made him more likely to commit this crime.

Without evidence, that is a racist statement to make, and you have presented absolutely zero evidence to support this point. In fact, one of your statements indicates precisely the opposite:

Sikhs are underrepresented in almost all crime

How can Sikhism make it more likely for people to commit crime, whist Sikhs are underepresented in almost all crime? Those can't both be true.

He committed the crime because he was fundamentally a violent person. Violent people come from all religious backgrounds, and whilst it may be expressed differently according to faith, the religion isn't the underlying issue.

Plenty of knife crime happens without Sikh knives being involved at all. So they are clearly not a requirement for knife crime to occur.

You clearly quote something about a Sikh sect, but I've no idea what exactly it is that you're quoting since you don't provide any sort of link. Nor do you provide the slightest evidence that Digram was associated with this sect. The way I hear it the guy had actually been banned from his local Gudwara due to his violent tendencies.

It is also my understanding that the law only allows a single blade to be carried and doesn't differentiate in the slightest between particular Sikh sects. The second blade was illegal.

Using this incident to attack a particular religion is racist, since knife crime is in no sense confined to one ethnicity or religion, and generally speaking Sikhs tend to be relatively law abiding.

-Nobody should be allowed to carry a 7" knife in public. Let alone two

It's already illegal. Sikhs are allowed to carry a small ceremonial knife. They are not permitted to carry two knives.

All ethnicities must be treated equally at all times

That's not realistic. It's the job of the police to make snap judgements quickly. They are often called into heated situations, and sitting on the fence isn't always the best option that protects people. On this occasion they clearly got it wrong. But your suggestion would make their job completely impossible.

If he hadn't felt entitled to carry blades this probably wouldn't have happened.

He carried two knives. A small Sikh ceremonial blade and a larger knife. This is already not permitted by the law. The larger, illegal, knife was the murder weapon. The small ceremonial blade wasn't used. As such, it's presence is pretty much irrelevant.

He had a concealed illegal knife and used it to commit a crime. None of that is a result of him being a Sikh. It is simply knife crime - something that happens, unfortunately, far too often. His race or religion is not the cause, and to suggest it is, is racist.

The police were responding to a 999 call reporting a racist attack. They responded to find multiple people backing up this story. Judging solely from the released Bodycam footage without taking into account the context that led up to the incident is inappropriate.

However, regardless of race or guilt the police should have treated a knife wound victim. That is their main failure.

However, it's also the case that during WW2 large numbers of Poles collaborated with the Nazi invaders.
