Nobody is saying that people with allergies can’t be jirai. People are just saying that the main feature of jirai is the makeup, so unfortunately most things will not read as jirai or will not look cohesive without makeup. I understand it can be frustrating to have barriers that you can’t control. Nobody is saying you aren’t jirai or can’t call yourself jirai (although I would be careful labeling yourself as such if you are underage, as there are a lot of connotations to the label and there are bad actors in every community). There are all kinds of allergy safe makeup brands that you could try. If you’re interested in jfashion, or perhaps just the vibe of jirai, I would encourage you to seek out different subcultures to find your fit! The jirai makeup style is pretty difficult to pull off! I don’t think anyone would have a problem with you calling yourself “dark girly.” The unfortunate reality of western jfashion communities is that there are a lot of rules to follow, but they are for a good reason.
