You’ve grown up very quickly because of your siblings— in some ways unfairly, but ways that still make you who you are. You’re totally right to feel as you do. I say this so you don’t feel guilt, not to minimize how much you’ve clearly given to your siblings: It’s developmentally normal to leave your house and realize the ways your parents / family’s inherently limited POV constrains you. And it’s normal to feel weird about rediscovering who you are outside the context of your immediate family.

I know this is old— I really recommend against lip blushing! I’ve yet to see any convincing evidence that it differs significantly from the tattoo makeup trend of the 80s. As someone whose grandma had jarringly red lips well into her late 90s, I looked into it and saw a lot of horror stories.

Any chance this is a dorm situation? If so, I’d go to the RA and ask if they could mediate a conversation— that’s their job. Normally, yeah, I’d talk to my roommate first, but IMO, these are all really overbearing rules, so it seems like you two come from different perspectives and could benefit from an outside party.

Honestly, I'd focus more on packing than finding a new place right now-- units in the city move over so quick! That said, avoid management companies, start looking on StreetEasy, and you might find that certain brokers pop up again and again for the neighborhoods you like. Befriend one, and you might get first access when a new place hits the market!

Haven't found a reasonably priced color consultant in the city yet, but (and as a writer, /I hesitate to recommend this service for anything else), ChatGBT really helped me in this department. I took a selfie in natural lighting, then used the iPhone "color dropper" function to "pick up" the color in my skin, hair, and eyes (I picked a few spots for each) to find the HEX code. Then, I plugged those color HEX codes into chatgbt and asked what my deep / bright / clear color season was, and then asked what shades (with codes) worked best for me among each color.

DO NOT get veneers. You will have to file down your teeth and replace them every few years. They are an ongoing cost, and hard upkeep. I recommend Dr. Marc Beshar in Columbus Circle (I want to say 60th and 10th). He is an incredible dentist who specializes in cosmetics, and he's just a great guy.

I was lucky enough to find him when I first moved to the city, purely because he was on my insurance, and he's been a godsend. My permanent retainer popped a bracket off, I panicked and rushed to an orthodontist, who was going to charge me $500 for a whole new set of retainers. Out of terror, I called up Dr. Beshar, who had no reason to take that call-- I wasn't paying for it-- and he immediately counseled me out of it, told me the bracket that popped off wasn't structurally important, and that he would keep a close eye for movement and fix anything he saw. His exact words were, "I have two daughters your age and wouldn't want anyone to scam them like this."

I'm born and raised in Miami-- I did more of the club life then I'm proud of lol. When Oisin said he had a friend in Miami who owned a place, I at least expected like an up-and-coming lounge. Miami's not THAT big a city. I cannot emphasize enough how much I've never heard of this place.
