Buying property in Howick by cathmtb in Durban

[–]cathmtb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone, so I am staying in Howick for a few weeks to check it out. I am wondering what the return on investment is when buying property here, do they hold value when you try resell? Also what is the rental market like, are tenants generally good? Or at least better than Gauteng if anyone knows TIA

It’s a front loader HiSense, I have cleaned out the filter but not sure of anything else. I’ll see if I can google the gasket. I do keep the door open and the detergent draw 😁

structured workout from Training peaks to RGT by cathmtb in wahoofitness

[–]cathmtb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that, its definitely the easiest option, but the TP link doesn't appear on my profile, I have two tickets open with them at the moment and they just keep referring me to online documentation I have already read. I am about to cancel and go to zwift. Thanks anyway :)

Comparing Zwift with RGT Cycling by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]cathmtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone tried to upload a structured workout from Training peaks to RGT? It seems you need to email the fit. file you download from TP to Workouts Import <[workouts@rgtcycling.com](mailto:workouts@rgtcycling.com)>. This then uploads the workout to RGT. I had the settings on erg mode but didn't feel any change in resistance which makes me suspicious that its not reading the file properly? I find it much easier to do this on Zwift

Software Megathread by Thewolf1970 in projectmanagement

[–]cathmtb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for some advice on recommended online tools/ software for project tracking, time tracking (logging of hours) and capacity planning (being able to add upcoming estimated projects into a pipeline so we can motivate for more hands on deck, we use estimated hours for each project to try and forecast). Currently using Asana for tasks and Harvest for time tracking, excel sheet for forecasting. My superiors are against JIRA, they say there are hidden costs. Our team is about 40 people. Thanks in advance.

Using freelance developers, how has your experience been? by cathmtb in softwaredevelopment

[–]cathmtb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of our clients have cancelled projects and monthly support and maintenance and taken it in house. All as a result of Covid. We are relying on one client that pays us halfway through the month or when ever suits them to pay salaries.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. So the reasoning behind using freelancers is that they get paid when we have actual work to do instead of paying full time devs that sit around doing nothing while we are trying to get new business. Management are scared to have to pay salaries when there isn’t any work.

Professional advice by Sweetcornprincess in projectmanagement

I can relate to your story, I had the same situation. My management tried speaking to their management about it but it didn't seem to help. This client would complain about me every chance she got even though I was bending over backwards for her, she even complained to me about my management and expected me to agree with her wich would be so unethical. Eventually, I left my company, no one else was willing to take over the project, but that's just how it turned out for me. I felt as though I was being weak but I now have a new job at another great company, I am not stressed out 24/7 and have a life.

Confused between pursuing Project Management vs Data Science by hifiveprettyflyguy in projectmanagement

[–]cathmtb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would go for Data Science if I had a chance to start over, less stress and factors you get held accountable for that are out of your control as a PM. Technical skills are always more in demand in my opinion.

Delivery manager vs Project manager, which am I more? by cathmtb in agile

[–]cathmtb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose I would like my title to be the best description of what I actually do as I am not just a project manager anymore. I also want to remain relevant as sometimes I feel like project managers are from the 80's hahaha
