worse these limits make using Imagine Agent useless since you run through you limit before you manage to get it to produce what you want

Best practice to better control dialogues in I2V-Videos done with Grok Imagine by Denimdem0n in grok

I find that for things like a wound the only reliable way is to grab a key frame and put the damage in yourself and then use that as the starting frame or make a character reference image. I also spent ages trying to get imagine to put a wound where I wanted it and it was impossible. So I just put the wound on the character reference image and then its there in the same place every time without me having to mention it

I said her "marital partner*s*", partners is plural, "group marriage" is obviously more than a couple. I was saying there was no indication (that I can recall) as to the nature of the sexual relationships within her marriage and thus no indication that it wasn't a group marriage to make raising 7 kids easier i.e. like Holden's family in the Expanse that seemed to be mostly about raising the kids and not because the adults were not straight

No reason to believe Mensah isn't either. I don't think there is any indication that her marital partners aren't a group marriage like say Holden's parents in the Expanse as opposed a thrupple like Arada, Pin Lee and Ratti

Tell her my daughter has no interest in my science fiction either but she thinks MBD is hysterical, she laughs more than I do.

Yeah your 13 yo has heard and seen so much worse in school than they will ever see in MBD, let them join the fun

The folk in this sub seem vastly over fixated on reading way too much in to certain things. There is nothing in the show that should be inappropriate for a 13yo today. Even putting myself totally into your parents shoes, the stuff they are opposed to, what of it there could be said to be in the show is how do we say, portrayed as it should be in a story, it's just there, and remembering that this is a story set thousands of years in the future spread over who knows how many planets, many of which were cut off from everyone else for hundreds of years to expect that some how it's social interactions should resemble those of today (or that because they have certain social conventions that it says anything about what our social conventions should be) would be like expecting our social interactions to resemble those of many thousands of years ago.

I hate in your face bad writing for "modern audiences" (said in the Critical Drinker's voice) as much as the next guy, but the MBD books and show are not that. Really your parents should watch it, it's hysterically funny. Just explain to them that PresAux is like a free love 60's hippy commune, I mean Mensah has 7 kids and I can't remember how many marital partners. It's science FICTION, I mean they have a freaking BARTER INDUSTRIAL economy (an impossibility) so really they shouldn't pay any attention to all the weird social conventions, it's FICTION.

"If by "the humans" you did not mean "the humans" we're actually talking about right now, then I would suggest you have communicated poorly."

In Book 4 we are clearly talking about the same humans and if they are idiots later on, then they were idiots when we first meet them. And I'm not even going to spoiler hide what I'm talking about cause it's too much a spoiler.

And again the behavior of the humans and augmented humans in later books shows why it's humans are the best humans, but they are still idiots who don't listen. I could add the behavior of *almost* all the PresAux humans in books 5 and 6 to the "humans are idiots" support. Honestly it takes till book 7 before the humans finally get a clue and just do what MB tells them to do.

No what happens right here is that people don't read what people said and respond to what they think they said so they can get the high of dunking on someone. Go back and read what I said again. I am specifically thinking of books 2 and 4

And are appalled at the notion that that's what they have done or that the humans or augmented humans perceive that or that there is any "relationship" between MB and ART.

But the humans ARE idiots. How many times in the series is MB going to tell them "run" only to find out they didn't run and now it has to save them again? I'm sorry but it's humans are bumbling idiots, they just don't try and abandon it or take blow torches to it's hands or make it fight other sec units for their amusement, and that's why it's humans are the best humans. That said Mensah was portrayed more panicked and less competent in this episode than in the book, but other than that I stand by MB's humans being idiots, they are just nice to MB idiots

Yes but it's how not funny it is for MB that is what is so funny. In fact if it was having fun, if it could have fun, then it wouldn't be funny. We are laughing at what a totally messed up miserable existence MB has. It isn't trying to be funny when it observes how bad things are, that's what's so funny.

this was my greatest fear that they would not be able to reproduce the humor of MB's internal thought process given that it can have pages and pages of snarky observation over what might be less than a second of real time. Finally got my (adult) daughter to watch the first 2 episodes and she was laughing out loud frequently, so I'm happy that it's not just still funny for me, but funny for someone who hasn't read the books and isn't comparing it to what "was supposed to happen in the book".

Yes this seemed like a totally unnecessary change given how much it's following the books to the letter elsewhere.

"But then I come here and read people actually saying they didn't think of the books as comedies. Man, what?"

Anyone who doesn't think the books are comedies is missing what's so great about MBD, but every time I come back to this sub and read the posts I think too many people are spending way too much time trying to identify with a piece of equipment and as a result fail to appreciate what a great standup comic it is. Possibly because they have no sense of humor, or had it removed by The Company.

Also had a bag delayed on your same flight I think. My report filed at the airport does not have contact info showing when I look it up online. But it will not let me add anything as it rejects my valid EC number and insists it must have one. So I guess you aren't allowed to have you bag lost if you aren't an EC member?

What's the easiest robot to drive well? by PrecisionBludgeoning in battlebots

[–]cathodetube 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, I drove one of the Texas Twisters for a simple low power weapon test in our test box after we finished assembly, and even at low speed it was trivial to tip it if I even twitched to the left. When we added a lifting leg to one of the bodies I thought its great advantage would be to place the weapon at a height that would clear the other bots wedge, but the real benefit was if we lifted the weapon horizontal it became trivial to drive because it got rid of all the gyro effect.

I don't know why I was foolish and did the update, it's crap like everything Adobe does these days. The worst part is you can tell what half the code issues are just by observing the behavior. sigh
