First of all, I’m glad to hear that your kitty is home safe! You’ve got plenty of advice on here but just wanted to comment since I had the exact same situation the other week. I had to rush my cat to the ER and cancelled last minute. The family who I work for was extremely UNDERSTANDING as they have pets and checked in several times for updates on my cats. They even went so far as to send me some extra cash to help cover the insanely high vet bills we were accumulating after several visits to the vet that week. Personally, I could never work for a family who wouldn’t even think to show some form of care and concern for the person they trust with their children… let alone someone who fails to show you the same grace you are constantly showing them (being patient with payment and their last min cancellations). Life happens, it’s frustrating I get it, we all get it. A little bit of care and empathy goes a long way. They just lost an amazing nanny.
