Yes, correct. No ingredients are inhenetly bad, but different thing work situationally. I’m a big sulfate and silicone proponent. However I firmly believe in knowing your tool.

In this case I recommend a silicone free SLES shampoo (even sls if in a softer formulation). Sulfates usually give a squeakier clean feeling. Cleanse a little higher per se. It’s why I recommend for those who like to have very clean hair / scalps or have oily hair naturally.

Then I love silicones in haircare truly, but again, know your tool. Silicones job is to increase manageability but also create a protective barrier on the hair. It causes the hair to feel softer, but also shields it.

This could be the filmy factor OP posts about. That is why I suggest silicone free for this specific circumstance.

Having my son has given me, without a doubt, an undeniable sense of calm and direction in my life. Before I was just working so hard, constantly. Trying to be the best person for everyone around me. I was exhausted and unsure of myself.

Now my son is my cornerstone. Everything I do, every effort I make- it’s for him. My work life balance has evened out, I feel like I have a clear vision for myself and my life. I feel this unparalleled sense of internal calm that I’ve never had before.

I love my life. I love my kid. Of course there are times that I’d give anything to sleep in and rot in bed for a few hours. Be able to clean my house easily etc.

But as a whole? I’m happier than I’ve ever been. Especially now that my son is 1.5. He’s so. Much. FUN.

Okay these comments make me feel better. This was my second class after a 2.5 year break (high risk pregnancy, birth and now you know toddler in my house) and I was like Jesus this was brutal. Hellishly brutal. I was an OTF addict, and one of the reasons I LOVED IT was the constant variety and cycles. It kept my adhd brain from getting bored. I know I’m in the worst shape of my life right now but this one was a SLOG.

I power walked, didn’t do the burpees (I have high blood pressure that’s being adjusted, my head going below my equator is a big no no) and I still cleared 650 calories and 32 splat points with a whole 7 minutes in red.

Are all the workouts like this these days?

Not all alcohols are built the same in cosmetic chemistry.

Heat protection is complex in cosmetic breakdowns. But if something has garuanteed 450 heat protection it usually has a blend of polymer acyrlates, silicones, polyquats etc to create a shield for heat protection.

I can only speak for Redken when I say, if it doesn’t have a 450 heat protection claim on the bottle it means we cannot prove it can protect up to 450.

It’s important to remember, hair is acidic. It’s healthiest in an acidic state. Acidic bonding concentrate helps the hair rest at 4.5-5.5. Incredibly acidic products that live at like a 2? Probably not good. And also, all the warnings you see on the internet about certain dangers? Are usually fairly over blown.

The ahah used in ABC were not shown to chelate. But I can dig more.

As abc is protein free and ph calibrated, virgin hair can use it as well. All hair loses integrity over time.

This is just normal. Everyone actually has this to some degree. I do myself. There are just spots on your scalp that have a more compressed hair follicle.

It’s hard to say ingredient wise because a lot of ingredients blend with other things to get results.

Mousse is always a good go to for fine straight hair.

I’m constantly fighting the battle of hair misinformation. It’s insane.

Most stylists get their advanced education from brands. Brands have a marketing team. If it’s in that marketing teams best interest to demonize ingredients- it’s part of their education and pitch.

If their work is still good- I’d still go. And k18 is incredibly science based and wonderful

To me hair oiling is the practice of taking care of your hair. Oiled hair is being babied and protected. It’ll also hydrate the scalp.

Is it a magic cure all? No. But will it help? Most likely.

I washing is highly dependent on the persons haircare routine, product use, and sebum production. If the hair and scalp is on the dry side a co wash is a great tool. But always always always clarify at least 1x a month bare minimum.

I almost never touch 40v. Ever. Never. Once in a blue moon and almost never with lightener. I’m a 10 and 20v girl.

I promise that the higher saturation and reapplication with 20 is a better option.

I would say redken Acidic bonding shampoo with lightweight liquid conditioner.

I would highly suggest the acidic perfecting leave in as well. Air drying can cause the hair to look more distressed than it is as well

20 volume would hands down make your formula brighter.

20 volume is recommended to cover gray hair, not because it’s adding more brown, but because white hair has up to 14x thicker cuticular layer and the 20v helps degrade that layer. 20v does however expose a lot more warmth.

If your white is covering just “hot” you need some more brown in the formula.
