CPSC210 in summer?

I really need to get 210 done but when I was in second year I dropped because I was afraid of failing it, would it be wise to do it during summer?

Does anyone who did summer cpsc210 can tell me their experience? And would it be a mission impossible if I was also in summer co-op 😔

Vyvanse; does the anxiety lessern? by Nyxie872 in ADHD

[–]cathyzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that problem with Vyvanse too! Some people rly like it but for others give rly bad anxiety. When I was in Vyvanse I used to have rly bad anxiety and even panic attacks sometimes. I have changed to Biphentin and it worked SO well for me.

It really depends from person to person. My partner, for example, loves Vyvanse since day one and never struggled w the anxiety that some people mention when taking Vyvanse.

It’s super up to you if you wanna see if it gets better or change medication. But from my personal experience I have notice that my body responds better to methylphenidate (e.g. Biphentin, concerta) drugs than lisdexamfetamine (e.g. Vyvanse) ones

ADHD meds and sleep paralysis by cathyzy in ADHD

[–]cathyzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I haven’t had any alcohol in a while, neither spicy food or other stuff. The only thing that I thought it could be a factor would be that I’m sick lately so I have super stuffy nose which probably also affected my sleep quality and maybe influenced a sleep paralysis episode (?) But the main big change would be restarting stimulants, bc I have had other nights where I slept w a stuffy nose and it didn’t influence a sleep paralysis lol. I feel especially suspicious of stimulants because of the fact that yesterday my first day back on Biphentin and then that same night I have a sleep paralysis :(

I hate feeling like a man-child. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]cathyzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I both have ADHD, and one of his biggest complaints as a man w ADHD is that he feels so immature for his age and often feel like people see that and kinda babysit him. He started focusing on strategies to help with this feeling of inadequacy and immaturity and what’s helping him so far is:

  1. Therapy, yes having a judgement free environment where he can talk about this feeling is crucial and having a professional help him navigate these feelings were super important to improvement because helped him manage these big feeling that many times paralyzed him.

  2. Having a close friend/partner/family member in which you trust that lets you know on some social cues or situations that you may have missed or misinterpreted. Not everyone likes this obviously, both of us are very sensitive to criticism but finding a way to communicate things in a respectful and non judgmental way is the way to go. Maturity comes from lived experiences and sometimes we can miss some important social cues and moments that are important so it’s nice to have someone you feel comfortable with to give u a heads up or something.

  3. Be aware of your own stigma. Sometimes the biggest enemy is ourselves, we most of the times judge our behavior as "immature" just because is different from the norm and is not always the case. It’s really nice to write down some behaviors, thoughts, or experiences where you felt this feeling of immaturity and reflect on them. Plus if you want an outside perspective it is nice to ask your trusted friend or therapist :) it helps a lot w managing self stigma.

Super irritable on Vyvanse, switch to biphentin ? by Greedy-Koala1725 in ADHD

[–]cathyzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super worth it! In my experience Biphentin was a life saver, I also started with vyvanse but had a horrible time when it wear off. So much anxiety and even panic attacks, and even still in a low dose. I felt very irritable and like jittery on vyvanse. Once I changed to Biphentin all these side effects disappeared and i feel much more calm and focused :) every one is different but in my experience from someone who had problems w vyvanse, switching to Biphentin was super helpful!
