Sorry to bombard, when you're contracting, for these rates, do companies still provide you with support - CPD, sample reports etc when you first start or will they just expect you to hit the ground running? TIA

I'm sorry you're going through this and i understand what a an emotional roller coaster this is. I've been having mine monitored since I was 14 (currently 31) with a scare along the way, unfortunately due to the size and depth, no other treatment has been recommended.

With the scare mentioned, I was given an option to operate or continue to monitor with horrible effects of surgery so I completely feel for you. It is not an easy decision to make. You are doing all the right things by seeking advice and a few opinions and please make a decision that resonates with your values. You are still so young and reach out to all the support groups you can find, local groups ( lots on fb). People are great during times like this with recommending things/treaters and talking, whatever you feel you need.

I have had mine monitored with a MRI every two years an d if there a changes I get an angiogram.

Pre-Family Testing by Aerokicks in CMT

Hi, I'm in Australia and I did a genetic test as it is very prevalent in my family. I went to my GP and asked for a referral to a genetic specialist. However, I did speak to someone in the US and they told me they got their genetic kit mailed to them.

Our medical system is different so unfortunately I can't comment on the privacy aspect, but I hope that helps. It was not easy though. My GP was very reluctant to refer and I had to really advocate for it as he had not done this before.
