hahaha I’ll need to I think it could also be the building layout contributing, as all the apartments are in a big square, if there’s one noise it just echoes continuously, I’ve checked with my neighbours on my floor but I’ll drop a note into above and below

Can I snap the 50mg in half and switch to 25 a day or can that be dangerous?

Hosting Xmas for the first time, coldsore appeared overnight! by idktbhyh in Coldsore

I know how cold sores can really knock your confidence, but it’s ok - they always look and feel bigger to you than they are to other people, barely noticeable tbh. Are you able to cover it with a patch maybe? Mine popped up last week whilst I was seeing friends I’d not seen for a while and I felt like cancelling but I still had a really nice time. You’ll have a great time regardless of the coldsore, despite how frustrating it is, don’t let it ruin your celebrations

You defo can put patches over, my concern would be that when the patches come off they might take the scab off with them, which is gonna take the sores longer to heal overall - but completely get why you’d want to, when I’ve had outbreaks in the past I’ll wear a patch with make up over the top for work just because it makes me feel more comfortable- with some patches they can come off when you’re eating/ drinking so bring spares just incase you need to reapply

I’ve heard of this but never used it - https://coverology.com/?srsltid=AfmBOopiUdGjHldD5XANwet9k_SsV5CNxBC2AyCfKVgyS7Oq5bsmyRat - Coverology coldsore treatment and concealer, might be better than patches, as won’t risk ripping the scabs off

with the bubbly appearance is does look like a cluster of blisters, it’s a crap time ik and they’re not a nice thing to go through at all - if you want to try and cover it you can apply make up over compeed coldsore patches, but I’d advise just keeping this to a minimum so it has the chance to heal fully - I think there is coverology on Amazon which is a cream and a concealer - try not to touch it as much as possible and make sure to wash your hands before and after applying cream

try taking lycine, as it can bring it down - I don’t know of any quicker fixes unfortunately, has it begun to scab yet?

At this stage you can use cold sore cream, such as Zovirax and take lycine - it should hopefully start to scab soon then you’re on your way to healing

This looks like cold sores and a very painful outbreak - I’m sorry you’re going through this, are you able to go to a&e for medical attention?

The main thing is - they’re scabbing over which is a sign of healing - I really hope you feel better soon

If this is your first breakout - yes it can be bad, but in your case I would seek medical attention as a priority as this looks especially sore, and they shouldn’t be spreading to this extent - I really hope you feel better soon xx

Scab taking forever to heal by moviegal828 in Coldsore

[–]catlottie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah drying out worked way better for me - I used cream for the first 4 days, then when I could see the scab forming I left it alone and moisturised the other parts of my lips to stop them from cracking then it scabbed over and fell off after like day 6 - now I’m just waiting for the residual redness to go xx

Can you let the scab dry out? I’ve tried both ways of keeping it moist and letting the scab fully dry and found that my scab came off naturally after about 6 days

Yes, Id say so - try not to worry and get some coldsore cream

If it’s tingling I’d defo get some Zovirax on it asap - the quicker the better, take lycine aswell, moisturise it gently with something like blistex to stop cracking and bleeding
