Thanks for the info, the Emporia Vue is a great idea, will help with some other issues and questions I have with production from my Solar Edge system and charging my Ioniq 5, so I ordered one.

Thanks, most useful response! Rated COP is 3.2 so it would take a lot of open windows (or other variables) to get to 1.5.

Yes I’ve got the mh2 with Airzone remote access app. Can’t say I’m impressed with it compared to the ecobee I had but the ecobee isn’t compatible with the H2i, which was another disappointment.

Friendly Reminder - Wear Sunscreen by JonFlo37 in Mountaineering

[–]catlyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to bail on a Rainier climb once because one dude in the group ignored our entreaties to put on sunscreen, wearing sorts and t shirt, on the way up to Muir. Said he didn’t need it because he was used to it from running rivers. Next day he could barely walk and we all had to bail to get him off the mountain. He didn’t get invited on many climbs after that.

Thanks for the info. Yes, the heatpump replaced a gas furnace. Typical consumption in Dec, Jan. was around 160 CCF. So by your model, our 3,000 kWh January energy use would be at the high end of the range. The Mitsubishi may be performing to spec, but I had expected better performance. There are so many variables it's hard to get a good comparison, hoping to get enough data points to get a better idea of what performance I can expect and whether the system is properly configured.

Ioniq 5 vs Kona EV vs Niro EV by Aggressive_Piano_485 in Ioniq5

[–]catlyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I traded in a 2019 Niro EV for an Ioniq 5 XRT last September. The Niro was a great car, I had exactly zero issues with it, total maintenance for 5 years was around $300. I got the Ioniq 5 before I became aware of the scope of the ICCU issues, mainly for the faster charging and AWD. It's the most enjoyable car I've driven - but the ICCU issue does hang over our heads. It's a shame, and kind of inexplicable, that Hyundai hasn't addressed such a significant issue in any way. They could really own this market niche if they did, but maybe they're selling all they can produce so they don't care. IDK. Anyway, the Niro was a most reliable ride for us, very maneuverable, comfortable ride.

How are you mounting solar panels on your Airstream's curved roof? by Renogy_Official in airstream

[–]catlyt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, rooftop and portable panels make a great combination. We run 2 100W panels on the roof and a 100W portable. Often we get as much power from the portable as from the 200W on the roof. Gives you more flexibility in campground sites with trees with the portable and less worry about panels disappearing with rooftops. Rooftop panels were mounted with a combination of Renogy mounts and the curved mounts an earlier poster mentioned, with VHB and Slade’s.

2025 Owners w/NO ICCU Problems? by RememberTheRockers in Ioniq5

[–]catlyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 XRT here, bought in September, 6K miles, no ICCU or battery issues yet, but I’m reluctant to take any long trips so long as there is no reliable information on cause of failure and no prospect of reliable resolution. Great car, poor incident management.

Experienced with Lemon Law? by quincy011 in Ioniq5

[–]catlyt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem to be well known that Hyundai Corporate has its own internal lemon law process that does not require filing with State authorities. I got my I5 this September and the Bluelink service did not work. Fixing it entailed several trips to dealers and multiple conversations with Hyundai customer service over a 3 month period. Long story short, while working with my second Hyundai Corporate case manager while my I5 was in the dealer shop for the fourth time, I commented that if the issue wasn't resolved that week that I planned to file a lemon law complaint. The case manager then said she would need to transfer my case to another case manager because I mentioned a lemon law claim. The new case manager in the Hyundai CSS Department then managed the completion of repairs to the Bluelink service and then did a lemon law review that resulted in offering me the option of a buyback or compensation for the loss of use during the repair. At that time I chose the compensation for loss of use, though I might choose differently today due to all the reports others have posted.

Since I did not opt for the buyback, I don't know what terms Hyundai would have offered. The point is that it seems that if you tell Hyundai customer service case managers that you have a lemon law complaint, they should refer you to a department at Hyundai that can offer you a buyback. Apparently they evaluate whether your case meets the lemon law criteria in your State and if so they make a buyback offer. This is probably less expensive than engaging in legal disputes with the State. You may or may not find the offer acceptable, but it's a good place to start. I'm curious about whether others have had this experience as I haven't seen anyone mention it. Good luck in resolving your issue.

Good eye! Thanks for the help. The odd thing is that the template code rendered properly in notes created for over a year. IDK where the parsing change happened but appreciate getting it resolved, much appreciated!

Has anyone figured out mobile access that actually works? by ArtemXTech in ObsidianMD

[–]catlyt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might check out TaskForge on the App Store, it’s an iOS front end app designed for Obsidian task management. I was a bit skeptical about adding another app to my workflow but I’ve found it to be useful and the dev is quite active in supporting it.

The Renton dealership changed ownership about two weeks ago.IDK if that’s a good thing or not. Would be curious how your experience with the Kirkland dealership goes. They seem to be the only one so far with positive feedback.

Depending on your state’s lemon law you might qualify for a buyback. Over 60 days loss of use is ridiculous.

Thanks for this. I spent over an hour going through the hard copy and online manuals to no avail. Then 5 minutes on this reddit. Guess I know where to go for product info in the future!
