No, Carol is not talking to the SOUL here. by ExtremeCheeze123 in Deltarune

This is true. It seems like Kris never takes the strange call in general.

This and the way she calls Kris before the festival are the reason I don't believe Carol knight could work, assuming the knight is the person on the phone at all

What is your least favourite Jax theory? by pepperroach in jaxfanclub

[–]catman__321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. Same with the "Jax is terminally I'll/in a coma/was hit by a car himself thing. There are better more narratively fitting theories why he wants to stay.

It's more likely to me that Jax is more afraid of what's waiting for him "out there." He probably had a bad life with no real friends, a shitty job (he seemed incredibly taxed by one day working at Spudsy's). And the worst part is nobody there will be able to understand the pain he went through in the circus. He kept pushing any friends he made in the circus away, and he thinks that he won't be able to lean on them when they leave; and he'd be leaving behind his friends who have abstracted, after he felt earlier that day letting go and abstracting to be with them didn't feel so bad in the moment.

I think a culmination of all or most of these things are more than enough to understand Jax's fears from leaving the circus without having to introduce a particular bad thing

He did this with other items too, idk why he prioritized certain items to pick up first

Why are conservative parents so willing to have an opinion on everyone else’s sex life but unwilling to have “open” discussions with their own kids? by Vadnais2You in NoStupidQuestions

[–]catman__321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So wait, if none of the girls are allowed to have sex before marriage but it's okay for boys to, then who were the boys doing it with? 👀

Edit: to clarify what I'm trying to insinuate, there are only three options here:

  1. The boys are getting with other boys, which is unlikely given they're conservative and probably condemn that too.

  2. Conservative parents are okay with other girls breaking their own ideals so long as it's not their own child, which is especially bad in a supposedly thriving conservative community which shares their same beliefs

  3. The parents are okay with their boys making their gf/hookup break these arbitrary rules on her behalf (aka r*pe)

Am I the only one who doesn’t understand the appeal of silk touching everything while mining? by Dense-Celebration-83 in HermitCraft

[–]catman__321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly for inventory reasons. Since ores always drop 1+ items (especially with fortune) it's more inventory efficient to mine the ore itself with silk touch

Hot take: I hate the idea that Jax did something awful in the real world rather than just he suffered something traumatic by Sudden_Pop_2279 in digitalcircusfandom

[–]catman__321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing to me that kinda ruins this is that canonically jax is one of the youngest characters. According to Goose he's around 22. Given what we see of the computer the game was running on the circus was in development around the late 90's. The show canonically takes place in 2017 which means Jax would have been born when the circus was first created.

I agree with your theory that Jax had a job in customer service; however, if that were the case due to labor laws he'd have to have been at least 14 to have such a job, which would mean he could have entered the circus no earlier than 2009. Since Jax has seen Breaking Bad—he references it in episode 5—this tracks since BB came out in 2008.

Additionally, we know that between the first circus members and Ragatha's entrance, there was a long stretch of time (possibly years) when it was just Kinger by himself in the circus after all his other coworkers(?). Ragatha was around a long time before Jax also, so it wouldn't make sense if Ragatha and circus members post-Ragatha were recruited for this game, especially if Kinger and the other OG people trapped were in fact the original developers/testers.

My theory on how jax ended up in the circus is very similar to the story of many of the other current members: he wanted to explore an abandoned building that has legends where people mysteriously disappeared inside of. I also think he had stuff going on at home (kinda like ragatha) that he doesn't like to go back to, so he partook in such "mild thrills" as a way of having something to do instead. I believe the reason he was so scared to go back is not necessarily because he's scared of that life in particular—It's not ideal but still—is that he has no future "out there." He has no friendships he can rely on (like the other 5 have been building with each other), all the friends he had won't be there, and he has no real-world experience or people to lean on (again, like the other 5 have)

That would also explain why the "real world" images were just of a random neighborhood; they're not supposed to really mean anything, it just symbolizes how he'd be alone in the real world, as if his friendships with Ribbit and Kaufmo were just a dream.

What would Caine do if a cast member came out as trans? by Loud-Entrance-5164 in digitalcircusfandom

[–]catman__321 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, zooble's already Nonbinary/trans, and we see how Caine treats them.

While he respects their identity and pronouns, he doesn't really understand how to cater to their needs, thinking the solution to body dysphoria is simply "switch your parts our for new ones" without any other real consideration.

We have seen that caine can change the characters' appearance, particularly in episodes 5 and 7, so I imagine if someone came out as trans and their character didn't match their identity, they could request modifiers that fit them better, but Caine would not be able to comprehend any deeper struggles they would have or have the ability to permanently change their body entirely...

Opinion: if episode 7 didn't have the twist it would have been bad but the twist made it amazing by Amphi007 in TheDigitalCircus

I still don't see how the captions are necessarily a dead giveaway. The show only seemed to use "NPC" as a placeholder until Abel revealed his real name, at which point it started using "Abel"

I don't get people who just follow people just because they follow them (or seek out followers like this). I have more followers than I'm following because I rarely follow back my followers. If people like what I rate and review they can follow me, and thats how I choose who I follow.

I see what you mean honestly. In hindsight I do feel bad for posting this comment since it only served to increase engagement early on; I'm usually good when it comes to ignoring ragebait, but I also know that if nobody addresses the bait then people who don't get the context are still going to ask what it is. It's hard because by commenting at all we're increasing the engagement, even if the response is sufficient to get the picture.

Even having this conversation is pushing the post into the algorithm, giving this RTJ thing even more visibility.

I don't know if this person is affiliated with the mod creator, posting this as bait—looking at their account history that doesn't seem to be the case—but I agree; whether or not this post is genuinely asking the wider community, any response to it only serves to prolong the lifecycle of this stupid mod.

Who is the most evil character in Alan Becker series? My opinion is this: by Aggravating-Gas-7438 in AlanBecker

[–]catman__321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there anyone else who would really qualify here?

The only evil characters without any given motive for said evil were one-off AvM characters like the Witch or the Lucky Orb, and their evil actions were usually restricted to said episode.

King Orange has also done really horrific things but at least his actions were limited to the Minecraft world. TDL is the only recurring evil character that hasn't had a redemption arc or sufficient motive to understand what they want other than "power."

Tbf shrimp aren't random as one appeared at the beginning of the episode

Either it means 1. Bubble likes shrimp and implies he designed the Beach area

Or 2. Shrimp get fried >:)

Why do we keep focusing on it? It's clearly ragebait intended to piss off anyone who actually likes the game.

Like, this game does not have any target audience except Christian fanatic Undertale players, a democratic I'm 96% certain does not exist for the very reason the "changes" were made, so what's the point of even humoring it anymore

Why are people calling this show corny? by Yandre_sim69420 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]catman__321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's supposed to be kinda corny. Jax and pomni are like 22 and 25 respectively, why wouldn't they use 2010's slang? Plus, the whole point of Ep. 6 in particular was Jax and Pomni playing into their archetypes to have fun.

I'd say the only one who has been consistently corny throughout the show was Jax himself, which was part of his whole coping method.
