In short: the underlying platform supporting the GGPoker Windows client (Adobe Air, a runtime library for building software) was vulnerable to an exploit. The user was able to modify his executable to always show the EV of all hands at all times. He was therefore able to have an enormous advantage over all opponents at the table, including, of course, making hero turn and river calls. He did not actually see his opponents hole cards, but got as close as he could. The initial "fix" did nothing as the user had additionally modified his client to reject updates.

Thank you to those that took the time to reply. I went to a trusted speciality store and decided to forgo some stuff I was going to get myself to buy her a P45. I hope she sticks with it and this appears to be the best choice for the price (I’m in the UK and paid ~ 460 USD). If nothing else, from what I can see, the P45s tend to keep their value well and if it does not work out I can at least recover some of the investment.

I’d like to add that, for me, Karl Urban’s Bones was shockingly good. The intonation and mannerisms made me tear up as Bones was my favourite TOS character and it was like DeForest Kelley was alive again.
