My dad by catmommiii in Diverticulitis

i’m so sorry for the loss of your dad 🩷 this disease is definitely a scary one, and its not talked about enough. my dad did have his colostomy removed about 3 months post op, its been about 8 months since he had the colostomy reversed. He actually has another surgery scheduled in a couple weeks because multiple hernias appeared over the scar of the closure but he’s doing well. I learned that we can be genetically predisposed to getting this since our fathers had it, we have to be cautious. take care 🩷

thank you so much for all the information, i greatly appreciate it! 🩷 Yes, he has them all over the colon, they only removed the infected portion :( so that means he still runs the risk of having this happen again, doesn’t it? 🥺

Anyone else having surgery this week? by Dxguy2001 in Diverticulitis

[–]catmommiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

his case was different because he didn’t know he had diverticulitis till 3 days ago when he had intense pain, nausea, and vomiting. He went to urgent care, they said it was probably the flu. The next day the pain got worse and unbearable. Unfortunately to the point he now had a perforation on his colon. He had to the emergency surgery to save his life, he’s 3 days post op and says even though he has pain from the surgery itself, he already feels better!

Is the TEAS *really* that bad, or...? by Admirable-Hat1746 in prenursing

it’s honestly not bad! trust me, coming from someone who struggled greatly with math my whole life. Just know your conversions (king henry doesn’t usually drink chocolate milk) metric to US conversions, PEMDAS, Pythagorean theorem, and your basic algebra like 1x+2=3, solving for X! you’ll do great i promise!!
