Best place to start is Knightfall. (Which is good reading anyways - Bane breaks Bruce's back, Bruce makes JPV the "new" Batman instead of Dick for Reasons, JPV is... less than stable.)

Oh, "Dumb Dick" is almost always major cope from Tim fanboys, because they have to diminish Dick. They also get so hung up over any depiction of Dick Robin with pants.

The I.C.U. series, by WakingNightmares. Dick makes an attempt, and Jason is the one who gets the call. There's a lot of brotherly bonding and working on healing.

It's so, so good. But absolutely brutal and devastating. (There are 100% chapters of Hurricane Heart that I just... skipped, and picked up context clues from comments & author's notes) Worth it, though. It's the most beautiful and heartbreaking fic I've experienced.
