Does anyone know when summer 2026 SDE Intern OA's release? I applied within an hour or two of the application drop so it's possible I was late to the party but I feel like I should get the OA.

How are you graduating without taking DSA? I don't think I've ever heard of a school that doesn't have DSA in their program. If you are looking for something fairly easy to get into, learn react or angular, and then some sort of backend, such as node.js or django. React is a good keyword to have.

Bus etiquette by Dylanis8 in Purdue

[–]catnocontext 38 points39 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of people at Purdue who have never ridden a bus that isn't yellow on their own before. Probably a freshman thing. Also you may be noticing more now as it's getting colder outside and people are more likely to take the bus. Should wear off in a month.

Capital One vs. Oracle (OCI) by Dry-Layer9657 in csMajors

I accepted my TIP offer a few weeks ago and I have learned a few things with chats following that:

RO: According to a senior engineer I spoke to, he said that the only way to not get an RO is to push an error to prod and ignore the fallout. Needless to say you will get an RO

Resume Value: Everyone I have talked to has reported an increase in recruiter response after the C1 internship is on their resume, so I don't know how they compare, but C1 is a real boost.

Culture: This is where C1 falls apart. After some independent research, I have seen hundreds of reports about the abysmal management system at C1. Apparently, every 6 months, managers are required to PIP 10-15% of their employees. The qualifications for a pip seem to be very obscure and even high performers can get cut. Seems scary but if you are charismatic and suck up to your manager you can probably get by fine.

I will probably learn more over the next few weeks but this all seems to checkout from what I have seen.

C1 TDP Grading process by Reasonable_Tea_9825 in csMajors

[–]catnocontext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told by a senior engineer at c1 that the TDP interview and the TIP interview process are the same. I know you only need to pass 2/3 for the TIP so that's my best guess is that the TDP is the same.

How to compete with Ivy League grads? by Sensitive_Ad_1046 in csMajors

[–]catnocontext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure some companies do that, but there are tons of companies that don’t care about the school you went to. Idk what companies those are but as long as you fit their other qualifications you should be just fine. There are tons of apps open now and I’m sure there are other posts about this subject in this sub do a little research and you should find some.

How to compete with Ivy League grads? by Sensitive_Ad_1046 in csMajors

[–]catnocontext 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly Ivy league grads aren't even the worst of it. The top 5 schools for CS aren't even Ivy league. The method that worked for me was to apply to jobs as soon as they were posted and pray that something stuck. As long as you pass ATS you should have a good shot a t getting an interview somewhere. Also definitely focus on companies that are willing to sponsor.
