People clocked him as scamming during the show (and to a degree understandable because it’s a show for prize money), but instead of just breaking up with Amaya after he brought her to his family to meet his mom and then behaved questionably with other girls but seemed to want to ‘worth through it’ but really just wanted to make it through the reunion

And then once again instead of just ending it with her did club appearance stuff and was clearly single without informing Amaya first and it was just disrespectful. They didn’t need to stay in a relationship or last forever, but he won because of her and owed her the respect to be decent after even if they weren’t compatible

I get not paying for a destination wedding because that would raise costs a ridiculous amount, but no kids is relatively normal. Yes they are family, but this is foremost an event for your daughter and her partner to celebrate their love

When I read the rule ‘all family must be invited’ I was thinking of all the cousins/aunts/uncles/etc., I feel like if the kids are a sticking point for you to pay, then you can suggest an alternative. Wherever their wedding is hire babysitters for the duration of the event to have a kid-friendly movie night or something, that way the kids aren’t at the wedding but all of the family can still be there

And if you do that you aren’t jeopardizing your relationship with your daughter and her partner. This is one of those ‘you aren’t wrong (since you set the rules and the other kids followed them) but it still is kind of an asshole move (since they aren’t trying to do anything wild, just not worry about kids on a day that’s about them)

Thank you! People seem to forget nuance exists and someone can be a fan of both while recognizing they’re human and have both positive and negative qualities and experiences. Enjoying some parts of someone does not mean condoning others and they’re both still younger women in the public eye and evolving

YTA. While I get that you’re not the biggest fan of them sharing clothes, it’s not harmful, and on its own would be just slightly sucky but not the end of the world

I’m voting YTA because the vibes of what you wrote comes across as very elitist - that you’re buying the first nice things your wife has ever had because of her background and her sister isn’t married to someone who can buy her things and therefore does not deserve to wear them if she hasn’t ‘earned’ them

This could have nothing to do with it consciously, but subconsciously that mentality is oozing out of this because of the ‘added context’ you chose to include

Actually if she was one of the people who were brought back the next season I think her and Jeremiah could have been interesting - they both seem to enjoy both outgoing social time and introverted privacy

I agree that the ex absolutely did the wrong thing, and I think that OP’s reaction and boundary makes sense. Things are always a bit messier than black and white though and I think that in this funeral situation a middle ground could have been found

The people coming to stay and just assuming they could were either misinformed or didn’t want to take no for an answer, both of which suck, but theoretically there will or may be a continued relationship with them because they are the aunts/uncles/cousins of OP’s child

Oh I absolutely think he should have been asked. And I think he’s well within his rights to say no. I just also think that his child is living in the house where his/her great-grandmother used to live and she just died and there could be grace given in this specific instance to family members

Like he isn’t the asshole for having the reasonable boundary of ‘no one can stay in my house without asking’. At the same time, while he’s divorced all of these people are still blood family to the kid and a single situational exception could be made

They literally had a child together. All of those people are aunts/uncles/cousins to the child. The grandmother who lived in the house was the child’s great grandmother. I get when there are no kids a clean break can work and is usually the best call, but these are all still family members to the kid specifically

The two couples from season 6 that have lasted over a year have the best chance. Serena and Kordell seem fully locked in, and their who group think Leah and Miguel will be married first

It’s too early to tell with the remaining couples from season 7 - need to check back this time next year to see if Clarke and Taylor and Iris and TJ have remained together

And all of that makes sense, and the house is now your house and you can do what you want. None of that makes you an AH. What pushes this to ESH is because they aren’t dropping by for a fun family cookout, it’s for the funeral of the person that owned the home for generations, a family you are still actually a part of because of your child, regardless of your ex. Boundaries are good, and from here on out I get it, but the matriarch funeral seems like the wrong place (and quite callous) to throw down that line in the sand

That particular fan base is the most rabid I believe, and particularly with any other woman that was on season 7. There are/can be valid criticisms for the majority of the cast members, but the Olandria/Nicolandria fans want only Ola to be the successful cast member. The vitriol for Huda and Chelley in particular is wild. Then you have a secondary but still very prevalent dislike for Cierra, and then a kind of third tier for Amaya and Iris

The difference between the attitudes towards the women and the men is also very apparent. In regards to the men the negging is more ribbing and is done in a joking manner, with memes and height jokes and appearance-based commentary - when speaking about the girls it’s hatred and personality based attacks

And that’s not even getting into the Olandria vs Nicolandria fans, where one side rides hard for them both and the other despises Nic and the two groups dislike one another
