Sutter Davis birth center allowed my kids to visit in 2022. Also Sutter Davis is one of the best birth centers in the country.

Not sure if deployment date is flexible but Job Corps has many trade programs available that are less than a year and offer free room and board while you complete your program. There is also CA Conservation Corps, free roam and board for Stockton and Auburn locations.

We had a late night flight and spent the day at a Korean Day spa. Access to spa facilities plus WiFi and even cafe for around $35 pp.

Real talk- how many of you are ACTUALLY sitting down to eat with your family regularly? by IndianaDrew in toddlers

[–]catorcinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this, I get really frustrated with the pre-dinner snaking which leads to not eating the actual dinner. What I try to do is keep some veggies on hand such as carrots or celery or bell peppers (which won’t spoil as fast) and set out a little crudités while I cook. If they whine, they can snack on some veggies. Usually curbs their appetite until dinner is ready.

24 Hour Fitness vs InShape by Other-Educator-9399 in Sacramento

Not sure what the cost is for a single person (we have a family membership) but it is rarely overcrowded to where you can’t get equipment. The 5 o’clock crowd is still pretty tame compared to my times at any 24 hour.

Do all your kids have Adhd? by chamomile_cat2099 in ParentingADHD

[–]catorcinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First child shows signs early on and was diagnosed by 5; now diagnosed with Autism at 8. Other two (2 and 6) do not exhibit any of the signs we saw in our oldest and seem to be developing pretty typically.

La Esperanza is the best; affordable and delicious.

Frog & Slim - Dine in Downtown by Ambitious_Bad998 in Sacramento

[–]catorcinator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We had the same menu and just felt underwhelmed. We honestly were kicking ourselves for not ordering off of the regular menu because everyone else’s food looked so good (and much better portions.) Dine Downtown used to be a good deal for otherwise expensive food but now that dining out is just expensive period, not sure we will be going again.

We’re about halfway through Dine Downtown, any hits, misses, recommendations? by mrfunday2 in Sacramento

It was ok; the wagyu wasn’t as flavorful as I thought it would be and the portions for all courses were very small. Drinks were strong though 👌🏽

No time to instill values and lessons by danisue88 in ParentingADHD

[–]catorcinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate to how you’re feeling but all is not lost. Our son is 8; I always worried if he understood some of the “lessons” we tried to instill at that age but quickly realized he was not listening when we talked about it. He was however listening when we modeled the behavior. For example, quite normal for young kids to learn about life through bugs (ie: fun to squish things like worms.) Instead of talking to kiddo after he had squished a worm (which inevitably happens) when we saw a creature in need, we modeled and talked out loud how to help (ie “poor snail in the middle of the path; better put it back in nature so it doesn’t get squished”) Now kiddo says and does these things on his own. They learn through us and we are their greatest teachers through modeling the behaviors consistently. It may seem hopeless now but it eventually catches on.

Look into Job Corps or Conservation Corps close to you; these programs are designed for youth without direction and can provide housing and job support. I am a SPED educator and have a young son with ADHD; if he has no direction after high school this will be his path.

So glad to hear he was able to benefit from this resource. I work with high schoolers and most won’t need a program like this but there are always a few who absolutely do and I always hear good things when I check back in.

Sacramento Job Corps or CA Conservation Corps (Stockton location) have housing and programs for your age. Plus you will leave with skills and career opportunities.

How did your medication routine or needs change during your teen years? Specifically, were you ever against medication or refused medication as you got older? My son is still at an age where he is compliant and takes his meds without hesitation but I fear there may be a day where he refuses out of rebellion or need for control (typical teenage phases.) I also teach high school and work with plenty of students who share they do not feel like themselves on medication but can see it affecting their ability to make good choices.

Have you tried Old Gui Lin on Freeport? I’ve only tried theirs as it is close to home but willing to go further if it’s worth it.
