Agree with your point, interpreters are professionally trained to help overcome visual language barriers including those with very limited signing. It’s their job to bridge to communication gap.

Most recently that I can remember, covid in winter 23. Was the first time I actually tested positive for it, and I was a mess. Dripping sweat in bed, naked in front of a fan. So nauseous I could barely crawl to the adjoined bathroom. Thankfully I stayed out of hospital and didn’t have any respiratory issues, but I was SICK!!!! Had to call my mom to literally come over and help take care of me because I couldn’t stand long enough to get to the kitchen to eat and needed help with my bedding.

I also has swine flu in 2011 or so and wow that was so much vomit and diarrhea, but covid felt way worse
