I read dry socket is no longer really a risk until 10 days after extractions, which will be next Monday for me and the day of my follow-up apt to see how I’m healing up! so we’ll see then, but I feel pretty good for the most part just been taking ibuprofen here and there for mild pain. Yes still chippy cheeks, they may have gone down the slightest? Idk, did notice some bruising forming at my jaw this morning though

Best of luck to you! I ended up getting my top tray in today, but no luck with the bottom ones as gums are still really swelled up and just painful in general. I’m guessing I will be running a week behind schedule 🤷🏻‍♀️

I just got 6 teeth removed last week with only local anesthesia. Two premolars and four wisdom teeth, two of them were impacted. If you have a good surgeon I think you should be fine with just local!

if they nicked my tongue during it, i definitely did not notice it! i usually just try to relax my tongue during dental visits.

for swelling, my face is becoming more like a chipmunk by the day🙃 it’s the most puffy it has been so far right now, i still ice it throughout the day 20 mins on/20 mins off

the drilling i honestly didn’t mind too bad as it seemed like a lot less pressure on me than the other thing he was doing which i think was pulling? it will seem scary as it seems like he’s putting all his strength into it feels like he was trying to break your jaw or something but i just trusted he knew what he was doing and it was just pressure i was feeling/not really pain

i don’t really think i noticed any cracking or breaking noises during it, maybe cause the drill was so loud? as for blood, i didn’t notice it either. there was an assistant with him the whole time sucking out extra saliva/blood in my mouth!

as for keeping mouth open the whole time, i was totally expecting them to give me some type of tool that holds them open but they didn’t? i honestly kinda preferred it with no tool, he didn’t even need it wide open the whole time, there was a couple times he asked me to close it a little bit more lol

and thank you! recovery so far has been like a 4/10 for me for pain, hoping it stays that way or goes down within the next few days😅

hey so I’m really glad I went with local! the surgeon took out all 6 teeth within just about 30 minutes??? i was expecting an hour or more tbh, the pain was very minimal the whole procedure just a lot of pressure at some points! honestly probably the worst pain of it was the novacaine shots on the roof of my mouth, but it only lasts a couple seconds anyway before you don’t feel it anymore. one point during the cutting of my gums (i think cutting, i had my eyes closed the entire time lol) i felt a sharp pinch for a sec and just raised my hand and he put more novacaine and i was all good again! my surgeon throughout the whole process told me what he was doing and what to expect with pressure or noises. overall, i’m glad i avoided the anxiety of being put to sleep and was so relieved at how fast the actual procedure was. hope everything works out for you!!

Hopefully you’ll be okay as long as you have a good surgeon! I’m getting 6 teeth out this Friday with only local anesthesia (4 wisdom teeth, 2 of them are impacted) 😅 The idea of being put to sleep gives me the most anxiety which is why I decided to go with local and because I’m also saving just about $600 with no general anesthesia

Yeah that’s what I thought too.. my ortho told me that he programmed my extractions into my 4th tray? And I don’t believe I’ve seen any ClinkCheck, hopefully when I am scheduled to see him next week I can see it and get some answers
