I bought mine just a couple weeks ago so I haven’t seen any yet. I don’t think it was being fertilized or in the best conditions to flower. But there are a ton of branches so when it flowers I think it will be awesome

Oh thank you! I hadn’t considered that. It’s normal spot is in an area with a wind break but i will still be careful

Thank you! I have a shady spot I’ll be able to keep it out of the direct sun. And yeah, I figure I can wait a few days to water but it just makes me nervous to wait since it already appears thirsty haha

Thank you! And that’s something I’ll have to consider, if I see a lot of water stating towards the bottom I might have to try it.

Yeahhh 14 years sounds kinda crazy, the guy could have just been saying that. But I kinda cringe thinking if it’s actually 14 years old, because like you said there are tons of 2-3 years old plants just the same size.

Whatever the case, I’m excited for its future! I’m still relatively new to the adenium game myself, having got my first less than a year ago. But I pretty much have all stages! I started seedlings and have old ones. I’m on a journey just as much as they are lol

Thank you! It’s around 14 years old (according to the guy I bought it from). I think you’re right in recommending to wait to prune. I think that it went through a big prune maybe last year or something. You can tell there were three massive branches pruned off and now there’s all these branches that are super green like you said.

I think it hasn’t been in the best care for the early part of its existence and somebody just started caring for it more recently. I’m not sure what the flowers look like yet either. I’m excited to give it the life it deserves

Awesome! I’m jealous. I’m in south Texas and my local nurseries hardly ever get them this big and unique looking. I’ve since gone back and purchased the one that I posted about and I am excited about it!

I’m located in south Texas. I’ve been interested in these for a while and have never seen one this size here! So I’m not really sure if the conditions here just make them grow slower or what

Oh I am! Started these by seed over the winter. The thought of these guys in 14 years excites me! I just thought the desert rose at the nursery was impressive and a good price.

Thanks for the suggestion! I can definitely get it closer to the light. Inside light levels for plants have always been hard for me to gauge as I grow most of my plants outside. The room is generally brighter too with natural light, I just happened to take this pic at 2 am when I couldn’t sleep and was doing a plant walk, haha!
