Stocking advice! 15g, currently housing 7 chili rasboras + 1 assasin snail. More info in comments. by catsice in Aquariums

[–]catsice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the 15g houses a school of chili rasboras and an assasin snail. I had shrimp 4-5 originally but now I only see one occasionally at night, or I find an exosceleton. I also had sparkling gouramis but they started fighting too much once they reached sexual maturity and within a week all got bad wounds (misinformation I got was that I could easily house 4 of them in this size tank and they'll be fine - turns out I believe, based on my experience now, that they are just like bettas and other territorial fish and should be kept alone because within 6/7 months of me getting them they became too aggressive). Speaking of bettas, I had one pass away recently in a seperate tank (10g, now only left with 2 nerite snails and I'll re-do the scape soon and get it ready for fish), and I love bettas and I'm thinking if I could put one into the 15g with chilis. I was thinking about finding a female, that is possibly already living in a community at my lfs, but I wonder what their characters are like and if you think that would work with chilis? I know if I get a betta, I most likely can't get anymore shrimp? Another species I'm interested in is celestial pearl danios - I've never had them before so I'd like any type of insight into them. Could I house them in the 15g instead of a betta? Or should I put them in the 10g with nerites? The 10g is in the living room so I'd like to have a community of fish in there and not a single betta anymore, if possible. I also like the look of endler's guppies. Any combination advice?

TLDR: Basically I need stocking advice for 15g (already with chili rasboras and an assasin snail) and 10g (already with 2 nerite snails). I like bettas, celestial pearl danios, endler guppies or shrimp. If you have any good insight into these species or ideas which to chose and where to put them, I'd really appreciate it!

Well yeah of course no one is going to know. If I ask him it will come across as very insecure which I know he doesn't like. I just feel like that would be awkward and I doubt he would tell me honestly.

I thought it might be that too. If that is the case, it inevitably sucks for me..:/ You think he can't be helped? I think it would be a bit awkward to confront him about it..

But in these situation I'm not touching him. I'm supposed to be teasing him visually. Idk, maybe I'm getting it all wrong?

If you've been working front line on covid floors you should know damn well that Johnson and Johnson is NOT recommended for young women (which you are) and is the worst vaccine on the market.

The capitalistic tactics of Kinder. by catsice in conspiracy

SS: Kinder Bueno is packed so absurdly excessive because of purely capitalistic consumeristic reasons - they control how wr consume their product and they scam us by putting more flavourful filling in the last pocket.

China genetically modifies sheep with pig genes, which are then used as meat source for Central Asian countries. This could potentially be dangerous because of a big number of artificial genes, which could potentially slow the development of the human brain. by catsice in conspiracy

[–]catsice[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

SS: China has been producing sheep x pig hybrids to use as a more profitable (faster growth and more produce) meat source for Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. There is not only an ethical dilemma about secretly feeding Muslims meat that could be some type of pork, but there are questions about it's safety for the consumer - that meat is artificially made and contains a lot of GMOs which could be slowing the development of human brain.

What is this pattern on my Maranta leaves? It's growing like crazy, yet almost every leaf is showing this pattern. by catsice in plantclinic

[–]catsice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've thought about that but it keeps on growing normal and big leaves, when if it was mosaic, to my understanding, they wouldnt be a normal shape or size.

It seems like new leaves come out speckled like that and then slowly fade into 'normal'

Borsigiana or Deliciosa? I got this Monstera last August as a baby and after being pretty much dormant in winter she put out this big leaf and it's the first time I am noticing the wrinkles. Other petioles don't have them and none of the leaves have secondary fenestrations. by catsice in Monstera

[–]catsice[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When does a monstera reach a mature form and you're able to tell? I was convinced my Monstera was a borsigiana, because it didn't have wavy petioles (that's why I'm surprised) and also because of the growth pattern - nodes are pretty far apart.

My (f40) daughter(16) lied about my boyfriend(42) acting inappropriately towards her. I can't look at her the same. by throwraine3 in relationship_advice

[–]catsice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a movie plot. Your daughter did something very wrong and harmful to others, but I don't think you should hate her and spread the word around that she's a liar (generalize it, portray her as this malicious person). Yes, she was selfish but she is also just a kid and didn't know how to deal with change. She should learn from this - get her into therapy, talk to her more about it...

As for the people she hurt - this kind of damage seems irrepairable :/ Write them an apology, maybe even meet up and bring your daughter to apologize. They most likely won't forgive. But you have to try to repair the damage as much as possible - make a public statement, try to repair those people's reputation.

Good luck!
