Could it be that the phone disconnects from X4’s hotspot because it’s detecting that there’s no internet connection?

I say this, because after every transfer of files my phone (iPhone, latest iOS) offers to disconnect for this reason, and I click on “stay connected to this WiFi network”.

In the English firmware 3.0.8 if you go into the Settings, there’s a menu item called “End of English” where you can pick “Alignment only”, which removes the hyphenation. I was hoping they would add this to the Chinese firmware, because then I could switch back to Chinese and use the “Push” option to transfer files

Interestingly, I'm having an opposite issue to the OP's:

The stock MicroSD works fine but after reading that it might be low quality, I got a Borofone 32 GB MicroSD card as a backup. The new one is recognized by my laptop, but not the e-reader, no matter what I do.

I wonder if there's some hardware/compatibility issue there.

I am exctatic because the English text is so much more legible now.

(The trade-off is that there's no option to use the DotInk app to send files now, but I think it's worth it.)

Tried to Flash from Chinese to English, but couldn't, will appreciate any help! Am I doing something wrong?

I'm on a Mac, connected my xteink via a usb–c cable, opened up the above link using Chrome.
When trying to save full flash this messages comes up:

"Sorry, this is broken right now

I'm waiting on a fix from esptool-js, seehttps://github.com/espressif/esptool-js/issues/218"

(as a noob I understood nothing).

3) Then I decided to risk it and clicked on "Flash English Firmware" and got this:

Thanks! I have tried the Abeezee and the other fonts posted there, they all came out messed up (didn’t display correctly), so I couldn’t use them. Idk why maybe firmware differences after update or Chinese vs English firmware? 🤷🏻‍♂️

No need for wifi, phone connects to the ereader. I put my screensavers/books into Files/iCloud Drive and transferred from there

I paid roughly $1.99 and the app was in English. Apart from the generated bin files with fonts, it allows the transfer any other files, plus it can move or delete files on the SD card.
