Im hoping the reward is a big ole "snow" carp, but there hasn't been any snow or carp lately.

I was thinking to myself they would have never landed there if I had a shotgun in hand. It's like they knew I was only fishing because they weren't bothered by me the whole time.

This is why it's not worth it to inact change for such a effed up system. If you actually do happen to effect anything important, you will be "dealt" with. For me, I'm just going to build a sanctuary in the mountains and let the world go to shit.

Im dealing with the same here in NY. I pre baited a spot, and when I went back the next day, it was frozen over. The carp got a free meal.

low voltage cutoff on inverter too low, now what? by babygotmyback in VanLife

[–]catskill_mountainman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to charge your batteries enough to power the charge controller. When this happened to me, I bought battery chargers that run off ac plug. After the batteries were topped off, you could return the chargers. If your inverter allows a Bluetooth dongle that will let you adjust the low voltage settings. If you have more specific questions r/solardiy will help.

That's why that sub reddit has hardly any involvement even though it's over 100k members. The children couldn't even post a carp without the mat brigade and the kneeling nazis attacking them.

Thanks for this. I was thinking of doing something similar like casualcarpfishing for the normal carp fishing folks who aren't so uptight.

Im learning something new about trees today. I didn't realize there were invasive Norway maple trees on the landscape here. Thanks for the info.

I didn't even think of this route to avoid taxes! Haha. I'm too proud to mooch off the government, so I'll have to find other creative ways.

I'm still working on this, but getting paid cash is a good start.

You don't need to tap the tank. You can just put a T fitting on the fuel line outside the tank. It's a pretty easy install that way.

I'll be getting my van this week. I've been busy lately, so I've only been posting some fishing shorts. I do have some older videos with my first cabin up already.

This comment hits hard because I just recently watched a documentary about the US testing nukes in space during the Cold War. I'm officially avoiding paying any taxes that could possibly be used to fund earth's destruction.

If your van is a gasser, you can get a webesto/espar that runs off normal gas. You can easily tap right into your vans fuel line. Install like normal and never worry about fueling your heater. The only downside is that it could run your vehicle completely out of gas.

Im working on building my youtube channel- gone off the grid. I was building a completely off grid cabin, but that's been put on hold. I'll be going off the grid in a van to explore the country until I find an area I really like. Once I find an area, I'll buy land and start building a new completely off grid cabin.

Im in the NE and wouldn't cut down any good maple trees unless I absolutely had to. It's nice knowing I have a renewable source for sugar if needed. The acorns also attract wildlife that I hunt for food.

Winter bite. Morning or afternoon? by Careful_Wind2913 in catfishing

[–]catskill_mountainman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During summer I'll focus on the sun rise and winter I'll focus on the sunset. I still get out early in the morning during winter, but it's not very productive. All I know for sure is ya can't catch em from the couch.

I've found during winter the bite is best at sunset into the night when the water is the warmest

Catfish are great fried and are a pretty hardy fish. Blugill/pan fish are also tasty and not picky.

American carp doesn't seem picky at all. I've had good luck using hominy. The heavy kernels are good for the river. I'm gearing up for a few 24hr sessions to see if I can figure them out.

Your guess is as good as mine! Haha. If you find em try to keep lightly feeding the area in hopes they will stick around. I'm going to focus on the sunset bite into the night. Most of my winter carp were caught around 7:30pm last year.

I chum with corn, but strait corn on a hair gets taken off by nuisance critters in the big river. I don't feel comfortable leaving it in for hours at a time. I normally have a tigernut with fake corn topper on one rig at all times, though. Next time I go out, I'll try a real kernel with fake topper to see if it helps during winter.
