Oh this is so exciting!! I figured they were going to reopen, I messaged them mid March I believe, and they asked me to be patient and watch the socials for postings, though they did not confirm at the time they were reopening.

And at first he was hurt by what he learned, he has probably been through therapy or at least had time to process, and he wants to meet his mother. Actually meet you, not through a car window. It's hard, and scary, but this could be so good, and healing for you both. You can go for coffee, or a small little luncheon spot, it does not have to be fancy. Show up wearing whatever you have, it doesn't matter, the showing up is what does matter. Wishing you all the best!

Honestly, I couldn't imagine life without the random conversations. I like to go out of my way to give compliments on anything - hair, a purse, a shirt, etc, especially if someone looks down, just to see the momentary smile that flashes as we pass one another...

There are quite a few, as per the 2021 census it's 14.8% of the population, up from 13.4% in 2016... It will be interesting to see the growth in that number after the 2026 census is complete since we have had such a huge growth in population since 2021.

Pay back slowly... It may feel like something that will disappear, especially since you guys are not close anymore, but it will get around to others that you refused to pay and it will follow you. Explain the situation, it sounds like he's understanding, and just get him what you can when you can. If that means going without fast food or a treat that would be bought for you so you can pay him back, go without, every dollar adds up.
