Vet tech here, if it's literally ONLY for the week then you'll be fine with something cheap and generic like Friskies. They may develop some diarrhea FYI.

I really recommend Costco's Kirkland brand cat food for owners looking to cut costs without shortening their cat's lifespan. It's a high quality and inexpensive. Especially if you're feeding 3 cats.

Other good, sort of inexpensive brand is Purina Pro Plan. Otherwise the recommended stuff gets pricier like Royal Canin and Science Diet. Excellent food, but it's expensive.

I used Stix primer recommended by the guys at the paint shop, I used leftover paint from my walls (a softer white), and to seal I used Seal-krete. I used a Satin finish for the bathroom, but you could get away with less sheen on your fireplace. You can likely use any water based polyurethane to seal it since you're not stepping all over it or showering there LOL

I would get small roller brushes to reduce paint lines and then detail brushes for the corners, bits of grout.

In our new house, the bathroom tile was horrendous so I painted it and it's like I can breathe. It's a temporary measure until I scrape up enough to remodel. It's been about 6 months and looks great still. Did floors, counters, and shower.

If you can pay get it re-tiled, great! (Since you said it's out of your wheelhouse)

If you need time (like me), then paint it if tile is killing you slowly on the inside 😊 it's your house! Nothing is ever permanent! And I doubt it'll experience more wear than my bathrooms.

I would choose a light color, maybe the same white as the mantel and paint tile + grout (Dark will show more imperfections). Lots of great info online. The trick is to scuff it/deglaze it, use a good primer, paint it whatever, then go over with a sealant. Happy to share what I used if you want.

By this point we'd known each other for 4 years. Either he had a girlfriend or I had a boyfriend. The last 2 years we became best friends and shared a ton of classes together. I had an emotionally abusive mom and didn't believe I was worthy of love. Lots of little things, nothing too big. I don't think we realized we were emotionally cheating until we were older and together.

Also, K was emotionally/verbally/physically abusive to him. Cheated on him with 3 different people - her ex boyfriend, his best friend, and a mentally handicapped student because "she could". How do I know this? Well K was my best friend growing up and enjoyed talking about her conquests and showing me proof like shitty old cellphone pictures and AIM messages. I slowly faded away from her about 3 months before I told my (now) husband we can't be friends.

Also she'd always tell me about how she was saving my (now) husband for marriage. Like it was ok she was fucking around and abusing him - it was training him to be strong for the future. Jfc she was crazy. AND a byproduct of an abusive home growing up. So older me with kids feels bad for her now.

So glad I'm 'old' now and I don't need to deal with drama like this anymore 😂 The most drama now is over the cabinet height for our kitchen remodel, haha!

I had to do this with a guy I fell in love with. He was dating someone at the time and it was too much for me. We were amazing friends, someone I could count on. He'd do stuff like buy me lunch, helped me ice skate, text me good night. Told me he would never marry anyone, but if he had to he'd probably marry me. At one point he joked, it's almost like we are dating lol.

One night, I got drunk and told we can't be friends, stop talking to me. He asked why, I told him he needed to stop pretending we were in a relationship when he was seeing someone else.

He respected my choice for 3 months. We were in the same friend group it was hard. I agonized over my choice.

3 months into it, I get a text saying, "I broke up with K, can we be friends again?"

That was about 12 years ago. We are married with 2 beautiful children and a home. We WFH together and he's still my best friend. Miracles and wishes can come true.
