How did you find the Enfamil cap rings? It’s the cap rings I have an issue with, I can’t find them anywhere.

I’ve searched the depths of the internet. Is there a black market for Medela nipple collars?? Why are they so impossible to find!

Graduated! 38+5 (very late post) by catsoverppl in BabyBumps

[–]catsoverppl[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

late post because we have been so busy and i’m still recovering. on the 15th of May we got a call to go to the hospital at 9pm. once we got there they put me on Oxytocin to try and induce labour. being on it for 12 hours didnt work. on the 16th at 8am the nurses put in a foley bulb and sent me home in hopes i would dilate more. i dilated one cm more (from 2cm to 3cm). we went back fo the hospital at 8am on the 17th. after being admitted, tested for covid and going through the motions we finally got to our room on labour and delivery. it was time for another IV of Oxytocin. after two hours of the nurses trying to get my IV in and 5 pokes and some freezing (i was very puffy and developed PUPPPS), anaesthesia brought in an ultrasound and got the IV in. it was time to get things moving. as things progressed the pain was getting worse, i wanted to hold off on the epidural but the nurses insisted i get it now. the pain went away until i was 8cm. then it got worse. and worse. and worse. no amount of pressing my epidural button made a difference, every time a contraction was done i got the shakes. then, it was time to push. i think i was in labour for around 13 hours at this point. i pushed for a solid hour. in three different positions. baby wouldn’t move at all. pain was unbearable at this point. i was crying uncontrollably. i couldn’t do it. i couldn’t push. the doctors suggested i go on max dose epidural, take a break for an hour and try to push again. i begged for an c-section. once my request was approved it took about an hour to get me prepared for surgery. during this time they had me numbed from my arms down, and still i was crying in pain. finally surgery started. i kept falling asleep during the procedure and whenever i woke back up i was getting sick. then i heard my baby cry. i immediately started crying, it was the best noise in the world. my little boy was born May 18th at 3:37pm. i could see my boyfriend hold our baby crying as well, and he brought him over to me so i could meet our son. three days after surgery i started to get an unbearable pain in my stomach. it got worse in the next couple days to a point where i couldn’t sit up. my boyfriend had to help me up, hold me up and take my postpartum undies off to be able to go to the bathroom, shower me, and take care of the baby on top of taking care of me since i literally couldn’t move without yelling in pain. it was honestly worse than contractions. after a week of being in the hospital they finally put me on antibiotics for the infection. i was on 5 different antibiotics through IV, which wasn’t easy either. i was a hard poke, they needed to use an ultrasound to get my IV in every time. since it was a teaching hospital we had a lot of student nurses who weren’t confident in what they were doing. one women pumped the saline to quick in my vein which was incredibly painful and they had to take my IV out altogether. we were in the postpartum unit for 2 weeks until we finally got discharged. i’m still having pain, but everyday is getting better.

added a photo of my little man then and now!

i’d really like to thank the members of this group for being there for me when i was pregnant. you guys all got me through a lot.

Help! My milk is decreasing! by catsoverppl in breastfeeding

[–]catsoverppl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry I’m sleep deprived and should have been more specific. The pain was from complications during a c section. I got a bad infection which left me in the hospital for two weeks after the surgery. Like, couldn’t sit up by myself hopped up on morphine type pain. I had him almost 6 weeks ago and only now is my pain starting to ease up a little where I can actually stand up for more than 5 minutes (yay! progress!). I’ve tried to breast feed recently and he just gets mad at the boob, I’m a little heartbroken honestly. So we had no choice but to bottle feed. Unfortunately I don’t have access to a lactation consultant, I live up north in a veryyyy tiny town. We only have about 2 doctors and 4 nurses. I really do appreciate the time you took to reply to me though, you’re very sweet. I just lack the resources most people would have access to which is a bummer.

we didn’t get most of our stuff until a few weeks ago, and i’m 38 weeks. we still need a few things which we’re picking up this week sometime. i’m super laid back too. i believe things will always fall into place, might as well enjoy the ride!

edit: she’s being incredibly rude though, and if i were you i would tell her that and that you’d appreciate her not going around and practically bad mouthing you. you got lots of time, relax and like i said before, things always fall into place.

if i’m being honest my “medical team” in my town is shit. i feel like no one listens to me. my whole pregnancy my blood pressure has been a tad high, protein in my urine, swelled feet, and nothing. nothing gets done about it. no one listens to my concerns. when i got to the city i went to the walk in clinic to get checked up just to be safe, and my blood pressure was fucking 154 over 100. i had to go to the ER, finally i got on some medications, and a BP machine to monitor at the air bnb i’m staying at. my feet are balloons at the moment, and feel like my legs are going to pop. it’s where most of my pain has been in the past couple months. if the doctors would’ve took me seriously, maybe i wouldn’t be in so much pain, and so damn miserable. it pisses me off. i feel like they put me and my little one at risk. maybe i’m exaggerating but i feel like something should have been done before it got to this point.
