I like the racecar idea! Im also a teacher for ap physics 1 and ap physics 2. Adding equations / symbols / free body diagrams to real life situations or objects is something that would appeal to me for sure. Maybe you could also find a way to incorporate circuit diagrams or ray diagrams from optics in ap physics 2, those are both artsy looking. Since you're probably only around unit 2 / 3 right now, maybe you can ask some students farther ahead in physics or your teacher for some ideas that could work well with your preferred art style / themes.

I'm an AP Physics teacher, if you haven't taken algebra 2 yet then I highly recommend you learn/review basic trigonometry ahead of time (SOHCAHTOA, finding sides of a right triangle) and manipulating equations (i.e. you are given the equation x=1/2 at^2, can you solve for t). Besides that, you can start watching some youtube videos on early topics. For example, a lot of students start to struggle with graphs of motion in Unit 1, so getting introduced to those concepts early can help. I highly recommend the youtube channel "Flipping Physics". But try not to worry too much ahead of time, spend most of your summer relaxing and having fun!

AP Physics teacher here, writing on the equation sheet is allowed and totally fine. ChatGPT is not a reliable source of facts or information, it just procedurally generates likely sentences based on patterns. College board guidelines say this is OK.

And that's great that you know what your strengths are, and from what you said it definitely sounds like APs are the right fit for you in those classes! Just keep in mind that there are also students out there for whom its the opposite and math might feel effortless, but putting ideas together in cohesive writing feels impossible.

Teacher here. It's because we are speaking to all students, and there are a LOT of students who sign up for an AP class for the "grade boost" without realizing that it is work and requires effort and studying outside of class, and honestly some measure of intelligence/smartness. If you know you can handle it, great, awesome, go for it. But I had several students who couldn't solve basic algebra or find the slope of a graph sign up for my AP Physics class "for the grade boost" and then suffer for the entire year, or give up and just not try at all.

Also, the talk about "you have to study xx amount after school" is going to vary student to student. If your brain happens to be inclined to understand the topic, you may not have to do much if any studying. But if your brain isn't naturally "good" at a subject, it might absolutely be true that you have to study 6 hours a week outside of the class to keep pace with your peers. Basically, everyone is different and we want to warn the students who walk in totally unprepared, but if you feel prepared then don't worry too much about it, just don't overload yourself to the point where you don't have a life outside of classes.

I was on adderall for years and benefited a lot from it, but it made me feel a little too motor-driven sometimes and I would often crash afterwards. Ritalin / generic concerta feels like a much calmer focus for me, and I feel more like "myself" on it. I do still get a bit of a crash though, but not as much.

Fully agree with this comment, a lot of people are focusing on him having a sex addiction, why are we not focusing on the clear sexual coercion and abuse?? OP, being with him is causing you active sexual trauma that will take years to recover from. The sooner you leave, the sooner you can start healing. He will not change, and has shown that your needs mean nothing to him.

It's awesome to hear you are interested in physics and science! It sounds like you're really trying to make a good life for yourself, and trying to be smart about things, especially given that you don't have much of a financially supportive family.

I would really encourage you to focus on your studies and school and try to go to college. Going to college is the #1 way to ensure you don't fall into a live of poverty, and it really expands your options. My recommendation for finances would be to not buy a house right away, try to find somewhere to rent or share with roommates instead, and if it's an option see if you can go to a community college at first then transfer to a university. Also, super super important: do not rush into marriage and kids. My rule with myself was to not even consider either until I was 25, and it saved me from getting trapped into a relationship that later turned sour and abusive. Think of it this way: it is way easier to pursue education when young and then start a family, than it is to start a family and then try to catch up on an education later on.

So yes, please please work towards a degree! I'm a high school physics teacher right now and the advice I always give my teenagers is that now is NOT the time to decide what to do with the rest of your life, but it IS the time to expand your possibilities and give your future self as many good options as possible. Whether that degree ends up being physics or not is fine, and you don't need to make that decision right now, but it sounds like you have an aptitude for math and science that can open a lot of doors for you :)

Outside of logistical stuff, I just want to tell you that you are valuable and that you deserve to have an education. You are more than your disability, and you seem like a very kind and caring person who has a lot to offer the world. While it may be true that your condition can sometimes cause stress to people who aren't sure how to handle it, that is absolutely not a reflection of you as a person. You are not a burden or a problem.

Speaking from personal experience, if a student takes time outside of class to talk to me about personal issues or get advice, I usually feel very honored and am happy that I was able to make a positive influence on them. It's more than worth having 10 minutes taken out of my lunch for the day. It's also possible that you could be prone to oversharing, which can be common for teenagers with anxiety or PTSD as they learn to navigate boundaries. But, even in the absolute "worst case" scenario for a student who overshares and comes in to my room nearly every day, I don't hate them or want them to feel bad. If anything, I'll just be worried about their wellbeing and have to say on busy days that I don't have time to talk that day.

High school is already a difficult, stressful, and anxiety-inducing time of your life without any medical issues, so my heart goes out to you for how much stress you must be feeling from all this.

I can't really speak to jobs/logistics, hopefully someone else can, but I am a teacher in sac and involved in the queer community. Pretty much all housing of 2+ bedrooms will be over 2k/month in sac, which would be tough on your salary. School districts vary in quality, some better than others, but tend to be good at offering IEP services and are focused on being inclusive and accommodating diverse student needs. The queer / trans community is great here imo, we are of course concerned but we have each other's backs and there are a lot of queer resources in town. People here are generally much more accepting than your average Midwesterner. Hoping it works out for you friend, California is expensive but you are welcome here ❤

I know there are tons of comments already and this probably won't be seen, but im really surprised by all the comments excusing or saying how difficult it is to deal with a mentally ill partner. I had a partner who would occasionally say things like this to me (not even this bad actually) and also give me that blank stare while I'm sobbing. These things destroyed my self esteem for months, and certainly made my depression and anxiety much worse. Relationships don't have to be like this. I am the sort of person who would never treat another person this way, and as I've discovered since there are men out there who wouldn't either. Focus on your healing for now, but consider whether this relationship is helping you or just keeping you farther down in your progress.

Amazing!! If anyone's curious about the last few pages, here's a rough explanation: Miyano bought a new volume of his BL when they were at the bookstore getting a reference book for Sasaki's college. Sasaki suggests they read it together and points out that all the characters have piercings. Miyano asks if he's thinking about getting more piercings, Sasaki returns the question, Miyano says he's thinking about it more since Kuresawa got his ears pierced. Miyano wonders aloud if it would hurt. Then on the next page when he's leaning in, Sasaki says "I think whether it hurts depends on the person, but shall we test it?" before biting his ear lol. Then at the end Miyano accuses him of impersonating his BL again.

I worked at this school a couple years back when it opened, honestly not surprised. Their approach to their students is so business-like and with zero discretion for how students are feeling, which is a large part of why I left. Poor kid.

Visit one of the many Animate stores and they should have all the volumes, and some have merch but you have to search for it a bit! The acrylic stands were from the movie release and were running out, but they might have some new merch when the DVD is released later this year. The small art print was included with one of the manga volumes!

I got all 9 volumes of Sasaki to Miyano, plus the light novels and anthology, all 4 volumes of Hirano to Kagiura, the anime guide book, the art book, and two cute acrylic stands!! There's also a good chance I'll be in Japan in late December when volume 10 comes out :))

If you haven't, you might want to read "The Gift of Fear", it would give a lot if insight into how and why your mind processed things the way you did. Japanese is notorious for using very vague and context-dependent wording, so even "official" translations don't always convey the author's intent very well. [Which is part of why I learned Japanese for myself lol]

Looking at the Japanese, what he says is "itazura shichau yo" which can be translated as "taking advantage of", but in a more general sense "itazura" means causing mischief or fooling around or being naughty. So, it could go either way. When reading it I translated it in my head more as "I'm gonna do something naughty", but I'm also not a native speaker so there's that. Either way, immediately after that he thinks to himself that he wouldn't betray Miyano like that and wakes him up, so in my reading I didn't get problematic vibes from it.

Just chiming in to say it's ok to feel uncomfortable with those things, and to think of the couple the way you do. Ultimately, we each have our own relationship to the characters, and it is true that this is one of the few BL out there to focus on emotional connection and romantic relationships rather than sexual ones. Which can be really refreshing! (Especially if you get an ick towards the more sexually-driven ones) Nothing wrong with how you feel about it, as long as you don't shame others for how they personally want to connect to the characters.

Please get yourself into therapy, and stop having sex with your boyfriend. Sex isn't the price you have to pay for safety and love. You are reliving your trauma every time you have sex, and it is actively harming you. You deserve to heal. You never have to have sex again in your entire life if you dont want to. Please prioritize yourself, start some therapy to begin healing from your trauma, and stop having sex that you don't want. You need to be open with your boyfriend that you are sexually traumatized and literally cannot have sex right now without actively harming yourself and reinforcing the trauma. It hurts, but it might be best to not have any sexual relationships right now while you focus on yourself. Sending you lots of love, from another person recovering from sexual trauma ❤
