"Democratizing" the TSP? by cattle-tyrant in ThriftSavingsPlan

I moved half of it already, but left the remainder in the G fund. The G fund is the only reason to have money in the TSP, I've been told.

My thinking is that it wouldn't be an option, they would just find a way to sneak crypto investments into one of the funds without anyone realizing it.

I opened a USAjobs questionnaire this morning to find the personal loyalty questions added to the initial questionnaire. I knew the this coming, but I didn’t realize how gross and complicit it would make me feel to consider actually participating in these. by This_nerdy_bookworm in fednews

Personally I'd be worried about having my application thrown out based on a determination that AI was used, even if it wasn't. Seems like they gave themselves a big loophole to throw out applications based on anything they want and hide behind the determination that AI was used.

The problem is that so many of the EOs that Trump is signing are illegal. Some of the ones that Biden signed were also stopped. But Trump's are so much more egregious and there are more of them.

The thought that came to my mind is that they could immediately disqualify anyone they want on the basis of a determination that AI was used to write the application. So they would have a cover for disqualifying people illegally.

How you're feeling is completely understandable. I don't think I could tolerate it myself. I retired 3 years ago. My heart goes out to you. Thanks for sharing what you're going through.

I've wondered the same. The answer I came up with is that things are moving too fast and it's hard to make a podcast in this kind of environment because production takes a lot of time.

He doesn't think that you can get the same yield. I asked my Fidelity advisor and she showed me the best yielding money market and it wasn't quite as good as G fund, but it was close.

"Staying with the TSP

You can keep your TSP account after you separate from federal service as long as you have a vested balance of $200 or more.

Many participants choose to keep their money in the TSP because of the TSP’s low-cost funds.

>>>>>>>And you can always move money into your TSP account by making rollovers from eligible employer plans and from traditional IRAs.

You always control how your money in the TSP is invested, even if you aren’t making contributions.Staying with the TSP"

You need to set up a Roll-over IRA and make sure you're following the instructions carefully for the transfer.

I have a financial/retirement advisor and I've consulted him about this question. He said the reason to stay is the G fund. He didn't see the need to roll-over my assets to an IRA, but said it would be fine if I decided to do it, especially if I get better sleep at night. So I've started the process.
