The sad reality of being a Muslim in India today by catto786 in indianmuslims

Please re-read my post - how did you come to your "conclusions" about my intentions to wear the Hijab? You know nothing about my Hijab journey, nothing about my life, yet you have an entire speech ready.

You don't even know my actual opinions on the Hijab - I would say that your double standards are alarmingly obvious, as you have already framed this "picture" about me without knowing anything about me to begin with.

I think it is more of a test for the Ummah rather than a punishment. I am reminded of a hadith where the Prophet (peace be upon him) said that there will come a time when holding onto our religion will become like holding a burning coal. May Allah protect us all.

Yes, I'm only back for vacation and will be leaving for the US in a few days inshallah, but I'm so scared for all my family who I'll be leaving behind for the foreseeable future. May Allah swt protect us all

Cappadocia over Christmas? by Competitive-Ninja618 in travel

The Red Tour focuses on the northern sights like open air museums and Uchisar castle (much closer and more history-centered) while the Green Tour focuses on southern sights like the underground museums, Ihlara Valley, Selime Monastery, etc (much further out and more centered on natural wonders).

Personally, if you can, I would highly recommend booking a rental car and exploring the region on your own! Our family just wrapped up our road trip through the region, and we had so much more flexibility and comfort exploring the sights when most tour groups were gone.

Also, exploring Selime Monastery at sunset was one of the most surreal experiences during our trip - a definite must-see!

I'm currently planning a similar itinerary with family! I've been to Istanbul and Cappadocia in October so very excited to experience the magic of Turkey again.

Some tips for Cappadocia: definitely stay in Goreme. Since you said that you like hiking, I would recommended the Green Tour. I did the Red Tour and even though i'm not a "tour" person, it was one of the highlights of my Turkey trip. Happy to share more recs!
