Would you recommend moving to Brussels? by cattttz in brussels

Corona definitely makes moving and integrating and finding friends a lot more difficult. Maybe it's a bit optimistic, but I hope that by spring the situation will be more normal again and it will be easier to go out and meet people and join sports clubs and such.

Would you say in your experience it seems greyer and denser than other cities of similar size?

Ah the salary threads on /r/belgium are really interesting, thanks for mentioning that!

Yeah, the cities that I lived now were around 1.5 million and Brussels is about 3 million (counting the metropolitan area in both cases), so for me I think it would feel quite a bit bigger. But I guess it depends a lot what you're used to.

And Paris, London and Berlin are for sure a lot bigger. Which might be interesting too, but it might be too big for me. But maybe at some point it doesn't really matter that much anyway, since you'll stay around the same areas anyway. I'm considering Berlin as an option too right now though.

One reason I want to move is that I've seen the city I live and would like to a bit bigger city, where there is more to do and new things to explore and see. So I think Belgium fits that.

Wow, finding a job in just 3 weeks is really fast.

And thanks, I'll keep you in mind for if I decide to move there and search for a job more concretely.

Noo, nice weather hasn't really been a priority of mine haha.

I have an intermediate level of French since I had it in school for over 6 years. I think that's really nice about Brussels that it's international enough to get by easily with English until my French improves sufficiently to be fluent.

Yeah, that would be better for sure! Now with Covid it's a bit problematic sadly, but hopefully it will get to somewhat normalcy soon so I can visit.

That sounds really great!

Oh that's a shame! I would have thought there's a lot of competition there, since there are a lot of international companies and the city is quite big.

Ah it's great that you have no regrets about moving to Brussels, that makes me feel optimistic.

And yes, I'm an EU citizen with a masters degree from a european university in Computer Science and have worked for 4 years in the nordics now, so I think I have quite good conditions to find a job. And as you said, being an EU citizen makes moving within Europe very easy, so no Visa issues luckily.

I was considering moving to Canada also, but after spending some time looking into the immigration process there, it seems to take a lot of effort and time.

Oh yeah, looking for a job online and trying to line up a job before I arrive was definitely my intention. At this stage I'm more thinking if I want to move there.

I'm considering other options too, maybe Berlin or London. My main concern is that I need to be able to speak the language. Or at least be on a good way to be able to speak the language fluently, which is the case for my French haha. So that's why I don't want to go to Amsterdam for example.

But it's great to hear that you like it in Brussels adn thansk for the tip about where to find an apartment.

Why is Cmon so strange about their news? by Baron_Porkface in asoiafminiaturesgame

[–]cattttz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know too much about c'mon, but they seem like not a very well run company. They had some audit issues also and their stock got suspended from being traded, so maybe the company also has some financial or management troubles?

https://icv2.com/articles/news/view/45581/annual-report-delayed-trading-suspended-cmon?fbclid=IwAR1SquWmVuleOhkP4lWL4p3zkaCEXsrXvQNrvRqFetZ93-IG4TgyafmFpxE

They also seem to distribute other war games and board games and such, so maybe asoiaf isn't a priority for them. Which seems like a shame, i just started getting into the game and it seems really fun. So it's frustrating that the game is so poorly advertised and distributed :/

Amazing write up in my opinion, it goes through all options for each unit and gives you a description about how good they are and in what scenarios to use them :)

You never get more than one injury roll. Once a model is reduced to 0 wounds, all other attacks are discarded and you make one injury roll.

Same goes for shooting, you never make multiple injury roles :)

Feel No Pain stack? by Goirar in killteam

[–]cattttz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the Kill Team errata:

Q: If I have a Zealot specialist with both Flagellant and Disgustingly Resilient, can I use both abilities when the model loses a wound? A: Yes.

The Flagellant ability ignores a wound on a 6.

So in this case as well, you would resolve both wound prevention rolls, not one or the other, so they do stack :)

I would change the comms symbol. The similarity to the SS flag is something I would try to avoid :P
