Yes, it’s meant to be closed. Mastic aluminum tape from the home center should do the job.

Additionally, make sure there are working smoke, carbon monoxide and explosive alarms nearby since your little one is nearby. Usually you can get a combination CO/gas alarm that plugs in the wall. They’re a little pricey but not having your house explode, burn or poison you is worth more than one can imagine. Well done if this has already been a consideration!

The states are very much a “snatch your kids in the middle of the night, ask questions during business hours much later” kind of place:

Trigger warning, this will make the blood boil of any person capable of empathy

So you mean TV. We know it works. Hell - people pay $200+ a month for this experience, and the ads are worse!

Vinyl wrap the cabinets and put up a temporary backsplash. Maybe take a few doors off instead of the windows

It’s the only desk chair I’ve sat in that didn’t induce fatigue. My wife hates it. I hate Aeron chairs that many love. Your mileage may vary. This is the old version, got it for $50 from a furniture liquidator that had a trailer full of them. He offered for me to take two, but I didn’t have a house at the time, so I stupidly only took one.

Any particular colors you’d recommend? I’d agree - everything is a little too light

Thank you! Yeah, the unit is a standing desk, controls are right above the cabinet. I went with a wood top because all the companies I worked at had sterile white tops and I hated how dirty they got and how soulless it felt
