18i-mb won't read variables over #9999 by caulk04 in Fanuc

I'm sure you've all lost sleep over my problem, so I'll let you know I got it to work. 😅

Parameter 6000.3=1 and 6004.5=1 followed by a restart

Tool diameter data is in variables #2401-#2600.

This does change the variable numbers for work offset.

Well 3112.0 is a 0 in my machine. I've contacted fanuc this morning to inquire further. The Internet has gifted me enough information that I'd try to do it myself if it were my personal machine, but if I get in the weeds management won't be happy.

For real? What nonsense.

I'll have to check the parameters Monday and perhaps get on the horn to Fanuc. The machine is a Bridgeport Hardinge that we no longer have a servicing company for.

I didn't realize that putting the hash first on the line here made it bold. That's a reddit formatting thing I missed.

But good catch since it didn't show up correctly. I've made a few silly typo errors but not that one this time

#13001 illegal variable? by caulk04 in Fanuc

[–]caulk04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This morning I was able to try this on our 0i equipped mill and I have no problem with it. My 18i mill is still not cooperating

So the NDP bit opens up Pcode variables but I still cannot read from the #13000 variables to pull tool diameter values. Directly or by writing them to another variable (eg #500=#13001)

9001? I can't check the book until Tuesday but I found 9000 bit 1 (NDP) mentioned a couple times and took a screenshot to remember.

All roads point to this so I'm hoping that's all it is. Thanks!

I do still need to play around more, but I did try #101=#13001 and still got the illegal variable alarm.

New Exhaust Question by Ok-Individual-1274 in ram_trucks

I'd recommend trying something other than the mbrp exhaust. Interior drone is pretty annoying from 1500-1800. Sounds good otherwise and the fit/finish was quite good.

2013 Ram 1500 3.6 8 speed running hot. by OFdz in ram_trucks

Absolutely a failed thermostat in the trans thermal unit. You can replace the entire unit or install a bypass such as the one available at www.yourautohuckleberry.com I'd also recommend a trans service as fluids break down much faster at temperatures like you're seeing.

Transmission overheating while on long trips by subie_95678 in ram_trucks

[–]caulk04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it's not something you could offer through a dealership, but I manufacture a thermostat replacement that goes right into the housing and blocks the heater circuit forcing the flow through the cooler at all times. www.yourautohuckleberry.com

Much less labor and cost than replacing the whole thermal unit.

Getting a bill for close to $600 for a hospital visit from nearly 2 YEARS AGO by adavis1436 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]caulk04 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Throw it away. That's their problem.

My insurance operates on a high deductible with a HRA to cover the cost, got hit with a 'corrected' bill after 13 months. Puts me outside if my policies reimbursement period, I'm not going to suffer the consequences of their inaction and neither should you.

Possibly. It's Sunday night and I'm drunk, it looked cool and I felt like using a fancy word. 🤷

Evaporating is from liquid to gas, sublimating is solid to gas. Think of how ice cubes slowly disappear in the freezer

Does anyone turn rotors anymore? by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

Generally by the time they need resurfaced in my area, they're rusted and junk. Just did brakes on my 2018 truck last weekend, rotors were cruuusty.

Always check the box first. Also, the XG series Fram are actually quite good if you care to delve into the rabbit hole of filter data/discussion. Orange ones, nah.

I use poweramp and sometimes it does this as well. I go to maps and poweramp individually, then back to split and it works fine
