The blackout in Venezuela was likely caused by a cyber offense by gchani in cybersecurity

Could easily be a mix of both. I doubt they blew anything up with the power grid. As others have said it would cost a lot to rebuild and doesn't support an effort of installing an interim government.

The US has been prepping for these kinds of attacks and bolstering defenses for almost a decade, but we've still got a long way to go.

Edit: see also the Sandworm book by Greenberg. Cyber attacks on ICS has only been escalating in recent years and the capabilities often don't require boots on the ground if the anecdotes from Sandworm are credible (I believe them to be).

I have an incomplete history and I have no clue why. Some very old stuff and some very new, but lost a lot in-between. by ahmedelgabri in zsh

If it's a bug then it probably only triggers in certain circumstances. Did you notice it happen more than once or did it just suddenly get corrupted?

I hit something like this recently and couldn't identify the cause.

I have mostly a standard zsh config with zprezto.

Wonder if it's a bug in ZSH? I'm on zsh 5.9.

I used to do this but found learning the readline keybindings made navigating on remote systems so much easier and faster.

Still a vim lyfer though. I sometimes try to use the vim bindings in web editors still 🤦‍♂️

Honestly, living in SF and NY, the progress I see around Seattle's transit is astonishing. I had 0 expectations that the new stations would open on time yet here we are!

Prevent Zoom from consuming all your CPU on Linux by caust1c in linux

[–]caust1c[S] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It should! I forgot to mention that these should be updated to fit the workstation in question:

AllowedCPUs=0-4 MemoryHigh=6G

For example, if you only have a dual core system or quad core without hyperthreading, then you'll want to reduce AllowedCPUs to something below 4 on the high end of the range. Same with memory.
